Only Two U18 teams
1 How many times would they play each other during the year?
2 How many tournaments would they go to? More you attend drives up cost.
3 Depending on tournaments and game schedule each team might need a full-time paid coach. Drives up cost.
Nope I'm talking 2 teams for ALL of AAA age groups, it's far too watered down! Players get worse by practicing against, and whine with lower caliber players.
They could have some exhibition games against each other, but the majority of their games would be tournaments.
They would have to attend 7-10 tournaments a year. They would get to practice more. I see no comprehension of player development here. What about practice to game ratio? Should be at least 3-1, we don't get anywhere near that. Many teams go to almost as many tournaments already AND play 30 league games. How about getting more skating and skills, more meaningful workouts-at least 3 days a week, not the waste if time once a week they do now.
There is LOTS to do each week instead of travelling to useless league games all across the city, getting there 1.5 hrs befire games etc. Waste of time.
Now this is for people seeking out the truly elite, no AA mentality parents/players.
Costs would be cheaper and less weekly travel.
Players would get better, have better hockey/school/home life balance, competition would be much higher and exposure would be massive.
Or you stick with you watered down AA mentality.
Nah, 5 legacy AAA is the most moronic thing ever.
2 teams makes sense in every way.
Prove me wrong. Even on one point.
You can't.
Yes they would.

So no proof, not even an attempt. How appropriate. Just claim it to be true, and expect people to believe you. Here i can play.
1-a 2 team AAA representation from HEO is more fiscally effective, and provides more value for the money that will be spent. It will also be cheaper than legacy AAA.
2-the outcome will be FAR greater, and provide FAR better results than legacy AAA

I know the concept of 2 teams vs 5 teams and the higher concentration of talent goes above your head.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 12:51 pmPost some fake numbers as proof of the 2 team systemGuest wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 10:06 amGuest wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 9:38 amDefinitely not an accountant that we are working with here I see. but anyways......
5 teams is watered down, and it hurts player development
prove me wrong.
Or don't post anything, complain, stomp your feet and blame someone else......ah Liberals
Re: Ottawa U18 2022/23 Season
Ah, i see you've pivoted to "fiscally effective" and "value", rather than "will cost less". Definitely government accountant.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 10:06 amGuest wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 9:38 amDefinitely not an accountant that we are working with here I see. Asking for proof that the sky is blue does not make you a scientist btw.

Player awesomeness will go up by 100%
Amount of U16s drafted will go from 20-25 per year, to like 50 per year
Amount of kms driven each season will be under 125,000
Re: Ottawa U18 2022/23 Season
More than 2 teams means you have teams full of AA caliber talent. Sorry dad, this is reality. Does it hurt?
Re: Ottawa U18 2022/23 Season
You're absolutely right. Everyone knows that there is a precise formula for how many "actual" AAA players exist per 1000 registered players, this should be the exact guide of how many tier 1 teams should exist, if in doubt you round down to avoid tainting the elites.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 4:50 pm More than 2 teams means you have teams full of AA caliber talent. Also, there is a 100% clear-cut defined line between "AAA" quality and "AA" 100% of the time.
Since hockey has no politics or money involved, going with one team would probably be best because due to the above formula, the odds are that the HEO region only really has 20-23 bonafide "AAA" players in any age group, so having two teams could be "Watering down" things for the elites, and there would be a risk of lower quality players sneaking through.
Besides that, you're onto something
Re: Ottawa U18 2022/23 Season
One AAA team per year sounds about right. That way we can beat up on all other teams in the province, especially those dastardly GTA teams. Why look, the 08 Ottawa District team just finished spanking the GTA team in the finals of the 2023 Draftday All-Star Prospects Showcase! Then, for sure we'd have what, 17 1st round OHL picks from Ottawa, because development!
