Which teams did the new SYB kids play for? Did they have equal ice time? Training, competing, gaining experience does matter...

Who has best coaching? Goaltenders?

Who will improve most from the first half to second half?

Lots of AA teams filled with kids that would be better served playing A hockey but there are too many teams in the league. Better AA teams have less A calibre skaters on their team or they play them less if they have them. WH, TRT, DMM would have been more competitive playing A hockey last season. Hopefully they will field more competitive teams this upcoming season. If you are on a good competitive AA team now, why would you switch to a bottom feeder? Lower ranked AA teams don't really have a choice other than to try to attract better A players and hope that they can marginally improve their rosters.
“Marginally improve their roster” is the key part in your post. No one is arguing that WH won’t improve. Of course they’ll be better than last year. But someone claiming that the new single A WH kids will be “some of the best in the league” is nonsense. WH lost their best kid to NYK, and picked up some solid A players. Their team will be slightly better than last season, but still a far cry from the top 6 teams in the league.

Finally someone with a common sense here, thank you!

But … Those who played AAA’ last season didn’t just automatically decide to go play AA’. Obviously with it being a contact year and the speed of the game in AAA’ much faster dropped down. Those “solid A’ players” could have been playing AA’ last season and chose not to.

See the difference ?

I honestly have no idea what you’re taking about. Sorry. Are you saying that “top A” players coming up are likely better than “bottom AAA” players coming down?

Not at all. Sorry you interpret it that way.
I just think they could be in a better position from a level of confidence as long as they have the right supporting cast in their corner.

Lots of changes at this age but a top A player can’t really be compared to a top AA player who might be kind of able to play bottomAAA. Skating ability is different

You were on something until the last sentence. I know quite a few of A players who are better skaters than most AA players, and even some AAA players, but they are still A level players.

but… what if there is a player who currently plays at the SELECT level and can outperform and outmuscle anyone in AA’ and easily play GTHL AAA’ tomorrow if they really wanted to. However chooses to plays for the love of the game instead. To good to be true ?

There are a couple of 8 year olds at my local rink playing shinny who can be 100 points scorers in NHL right away, but their moms don’t let them because they will not have time for a homework.
