Worked out for so many others? Quite a vague reference. They don’t have a choice. Need to get rid of release requirements. Best programs, best coaches, get the best kids. Parents and kids decide not the coaches and JV and his pals. Why in such a deep hockey pool like Oakville should anyone require a release to go elsewhere.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 6:27 amSo basically you still haven't explained anything other than vague references. So it didn't work out for you in Oakville is what I'm gathering? Wonder why it works out for so many others...hmmmGuest wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 7:26 pm100% correct. Get the f outta Oville. Don’t complain to anyone, just f’ing run.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 6:56 pmTotally agree more people need to step up and action their complaints. However, the culture in Oakville (which starts at the top) is to silence the parents through the power of the coaches and the org to impact their child’s hockey career (whatever that ends up being beer league to the NHL). Everyone is afraid of the impact it will have on their kid so they say nothing. When things are said, there is an all out effort to shut those parents down cast them as outsiders or complainers with no real accountability. Oakville is a ‘coach and org centric’ place not a player and parent centric org. Even the extreme example that was summarized on the W5 episode….parents don’t speak up. There were so many examples of this last year even, stories of coaches being emotionally abusive to kids and nothing is done. This is the grass roots of hockey that needs to change. If you want to give your kid the best opportunity, leave Oakville as fast as you can. Good news for JV and friends is there is a line up of deep pocketed parents in Oakville so they can handle the departures and there are many of them.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 6:26 pmI thought you weren't bothered by it or complaining about it? It's not your problem apparently so who cares, am I right?Guest wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 6:11 pmBest to bury your head in the sand, pretend like nothing happens. So then why are you involved in it and commenting on this? It's your comment going to cure the ails of a bigger "hockey cultural problem"?

I agree with you that kids should get a release from anywhere they want, whenever they want. Just think that's more of an overall problem than an OR problemGuest wrote: ↑Wed Sep 13, 2023 9:54 amWorked out for so many others? Quite a vague reference. They don’t have a choice. Re: Oakville Rangers
So what’s the deal with some 2008’s that recently got into some legal trouble..something to do with a car.. at a party.. through a fence…the Oakville way will ensure they don’t miss a moment of hockey time..
Re: Oakville Rangers
Not having their licences yet would explain the legal trouble then.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 4:06 am 2008’s dont have their licenses yet. Please explain
Re: Oakville Rangers
were they at a team event? tournament? or just a get together with friends? because news flash for you - teenage boys have been known to do stupid things. if it was not a team event and had nothing to do with the league then why would anyone need to miss ice time? if the police get involved and things progress further then maybe have the conversation. but for now sounds like you are just stirring shit upGuest wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 8:36 pm So what’s the deal with some 2008’s that recently got into some legal trouble..something to do with a car.. at a party.. through a fence…the Oakville way will ensure they don’t miss a moment of hockey time..

Re: Oakville Rangers
According to the article, a group took a car (that didn’t belong to them), crashed into a house/fence and fled the crash. Sounds like something every teenage boy does in their free time.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 9:04 amSo it’s true, and known about. Wow and the 2 comments defending this and making excuses prove every point on here about OR but also the parents! SMH normal things teenage boys do.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 9:15 amAccording to the article, a group took a car (that didn’t belong to them), crashed into a house/fence and fled the crash. Re: Oakville Rangers
The kids involved talking about it in the changeroom, just shows the parents didn’t make them accountable for anything. Just blame others for their “mistakes”.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 9:22 amWow and the 2 comments defending this and making excuses prove every point on here about OR but also the parents!
