Bear with me here, it is early in the season and teams change as the season progresses but here is how things are looking:

Teams 1-3 - Alphabetical JRC, TM, VK

There appears to be a bit of separation with the top 3 teams in the loop. Interesting movement between these teams and some outside movement as well. Don't believe everything you hear or read for that matter, the top 3 teams are somewhat similar in calibre. The TM have improved between the pipes and added a little fire power up front. Yes they won it all last year but overall were slightly weaker than the other two top teams. VK seems to have an overabundance of scoring power and I am not convinced this is a good thing. It could create some bad chemistry internally, should the wrong parents get their nose out of place. They are a bit weaker on the back-end and this could create some issues, but the new coach is not one to do nothing about this situation. Should be interesting. JRC will be strong again but slightly less dominant than last year. If they can keep the internal fireworks in check they will do pretty well, but that may be a BIG ask. The gap to 4-6 is tighter than last year so don't be surprised to see some close games with teams 1-6!

Teams 4-6 Alphabetical DMF, NYR, Reps

It will be an interesting battle for slots 4-6. Again these three teams will be tightly matched each have their own weaknesses. DMF have a good goalie and always play high energy style hockey. Not always super organized but they have energy. NYR has some weakness on defence but a great goalie when he is in the zone. They will need to learn to score more goals upfront and many of their forwards are undersized. Reps have improved in net and upfront. Not many changes on the backend so they will need to score their way out of trouble.

Teams 7-9 Alphabetical Nats, Sens, TRW

The Nats are not the same team as last year and will struggle to get it going this year. They have lost some depth on the backend and will give up more goals than they can score. The Sens could surprise, as the coach is fairly competitive , but has created some unnecessary tension with his unequal player fees. Not sure what he was thinking but this will cause problems in the long run. TRW will play a little better than what you think, but there is nothing that indicates the environment will be stable. Fingers crossed the coach keeps it together this year.

Teams 10-13 Alphabetical MM, MR, TBK, TT

MR should come out on top with this group but you never know with MM they may surprise. There is not much info on TBK but they should be really okay. TT have lost of development work to do, and should improve as the year progresses, the start will not be pretty though.
Cigar spent the summer smoking something else if he has DMF top 6
What was the score between DMF and Nats?
DMF top 6 is not that unreasonable and the reasonings are sound. TRW/SENS are better on paper but they are toxic environments so IF coach can keep things under control they will be better but that is a BIG IF. I'd also not read too much into the DMF vs NAT exhibition game.
Who else played this weekend? And results
VK played 2 games won 1 and lost one. Selfish forwards cost the game for VK.

Blowing a 5-1 lead to lose 8-6 isn't all the forwards fault LOL

Lots of big ugly holes in that VK team
