HC has been managed by greed, ignorance, and now fear! There should be people in jail for covering up the corruption, it's a back scratching and keep quiet culture. Congratulations if that was your goal, well done.

Congratulations to the "rogue" institution of the BCHL! More and more options are coming to hockey in Canada that come out from under this BS HC system.

Oh but don't forget to fill out our little HC survey again this year! Fk off, lol
A great deal of opinion based on nothing in this rant.

Those rogue leagues - they are in it for the MONEY. Think about what you're saying because the alternatives are worse than the existing.

BCHL has been the #1 tier 2 league for moving players to NCAA D1 program for the past decade...clearly they are doing something right.

BCHL stepping away from HC is smart, considering the current climate and the spineless weasels running HC. OJ CC NOJ GOJ are already light years behind the BCHL...expect them to fall even further behind as droves of top players will leave ONT year after year.

Meh, people are happy that the redundant, archaic and ineffective leadership is out. May change happen, how much will happen, time will tell. At least now there's a chance. The old crew literally HURT the game.

YES - wow - look at all the changes. White males removed from all the Hockey Canada ads on TV..............because that's the reality of hockey in Canada.

What a joke.
When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.
Please - explain this privilege you speak of? I just pointed out that there is a HUGE inequality in terms of how hockey is portrayed in hockey commercials versus how it is in REALITY. Is that equality, or is it virtue signalling?
Yes, commercials are not entirely accurate to how the reality of hockey in Canada looks. There is an over-correction in advertising in general. I don’t think I‘ve seen a white straight couple in a commercial all year. Haha

But this is because there was a decades long UNDER representation of people of colour, women/girls in sport and Not Allowed people in advertising, movies and television. Now they are overdoing a bit. See how that bothers you? That’s how other groups felt for the past 50 years. The previous poster nailed it “When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.”

Suck it up, you’ll be fine.

Seeing one particular ethnicity in a commercial isn't a "privilege", lol. It's a business decision made by the people marketing their product.

Nowadays, campaigns have morfed into virtue signaling driven by fear of the woke mob. These companies / organizations are kneeling to people who want to be included, but aren't actually interested in what these companies / orgs have to offer.

Trying to grow the sport by selling lies to communities who aren't actually interested in hockey is a colossal wast of time and money.

How do you know what those communities are or aren’t interested in? Oh yea, you don’t! You’re just assuming based on your own preconceived notions.

If those communities were interested in hockey…they’d already be playing.

Do you honestly think that changing up the actors in a few TV commercials and posters is going to convince people to sign their kids up? If it were only that simple…

Hockey IS inclusive, but reality is that not everybody is interested…and that’s okay, because they don’t have to be.

Wake up people!

Woke advocates want equal representation in ad campaigns and policy …they aren’t interested in having their kids actually play hockey.

Hockey in Canada is dying, the game is no longer ours, people have their heads up their ass if they think otherwise. The return to play strategy is gradual, and begins after a doctor has given the player clearance to return to activity. If any symptoms/signs return during this process, the player must be re-evaluated by a physician. No return to play if any symptoms or signs persist. The return to play Core Ball strategy is gradual, and begins after a doctor has given the player clearance to return to activity. No return to play if any symptoms or signs persist. The poll conducted by Leger for the Association for Canadian Studies found that less than a third (30.6 per cent) of Canadians follow hockey the most closely of any sport each year. Meanwhile, other sports are gaining popularity among young people and new immigrants. In particular, basketball and soccer.

Hahaha....oh yah, you are one of those who still firmly believe that HC is in this for the kids!! It is about control and.....wait for it....wait for it.....FOR THE MONEY!!!!!

HC hasn't been about the grassroots for at least 20 years and they only cared about women's hockey for the WC's and the Olympics...until they were told to think otherwise!
