It's not about reducing teams, it's about too many teams playing at the wrong level.
Thats a good point but whats the solution.. Take West Mall and Humber Valley. They both have AA teams which are terrible and also have A teams. Humber A team is very good. So what should these two organizations do? I guess they could field two A teams. I am pretty sure the A WestMall and Humber teams would give their respective AA teams a challenge to beat.
Humber Valley would likely beat their AA team. Wml not so much.
Anyway, start where you think you would be. A or AA and play until Dec 1. Then based on records you move teams. Or simply force Hvs and Wml to field two A teams for a year. It's year after year of misery for those AA teams
This conversation is so old. Not one person looking at the big picture. "A" hockey in the G is garbage. No wonder kids want to play on a shitty AA team. The G wants our money and they know exactly how to get it. Nothing will change unless they get more $$.

Kids play on "shitty" AA teams because they are letter chasing. GTHL U14A is strong hockey, having only 7 teams helps that. I watch both U14 AA and A quite a bit this season. The top 4 A teams would be better than at least the bottom 3 AA teams. Much better than you think. Big picture is simply too many players at AA that are not AA players. Most of these kids wouldn't make the top A team.

I agree, the top few A teams in West would give even the Wolverines and Jets a run for their money. There is no reason why AA West has more teams then A West. Shouldn't it be 12-15 A teams, 10-12 AA and then 8-10 AAA?

If those people chasing letters and playing for really, really bad AA teams (i.e. HV, WM, Streetsville), joined A teams, AA would be stronger, as would A. The trickle down effect. Has Streetsville ever been good or WM?? I know HV once was average.

Well if you merged MIssissauga A and GTHL West you'd have that number. Which would put A at the same number of teams as in the GTHL East. Not sure why Mississauga for A is still it's own league.

I can't remember wml, hvs or streetsville ever having a decent teams. That is a lot of losing from U10 to U14, tough going.

Who cares. Your kid is going to men's league. Drink coffee and shut your mouth. This board is an embarrassment.

Top 4-5 teams think they are too good for the other teams. What a joke. The gap between top to bottom is the smallest it has ever been this year. Nothing special about your kids either.

LOL we've had a 15-2 game. The last place team is so far off even the mid teams, they just lost 10-0 to the Wolverines.

Touche, but then where would the mentally ill be able to pretend they actually know something about hockey and spread their negativity?

Would be great if there were some posts worth reading on here rather than the trash heap convention it is. If all you do is say bad things about other people, what does that really say about you? But wait, everyone else is the issue right?

Post something positive for once. I feel sorry for your families and the glass you stand in front of at games.

It doesn't hurt anyone to have 1-2 really weak teams, so stop fixating on it. It may be better for those team's kids to leave but that's up to them. It doesn't hurt you so get off your high horse. You just like to think you are better. There are very few players in this league that stand above the rest. Very few.
