2013 A - MHL/GTHL
Re: 2013 A - MHL/GTHL
Are these MHL teams still going to play in the GTHL west A division next year?
Re: 2013 A - MHL/GTHL
MHL said they are going to play in a new loop with OMHA teams like Oakville, Milton. Not sure if it applies to U12A for next year…coz if it does, then teams like Milton, Oakville are going to win 10-0 blowout all season. Oakville beat West Mall 5-1 in a tournament and teams like Heartland get smoked 10-0 usually..A hockey is watered down in MHL compared to OMHAGuest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 9:58 am Are these MHL teams still going to play in the GTHL west A division next year?

Love the drama and gossip..keep it coming... ( eating popcorn)Guest wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 11:08 pmI didn’t name it in my suggestion since that team is very controversial. The coach was reported to the league last year and there was a case against him. All their top players left and they are last in league. This year, the same coach has another case against him and hearing is ongoing with a player leaving mid-season. Heard parents are unhappy as kids didn’t develop and coach only plays a select few kids…anyway, I always avoid that team unless you can’t get anywhere else.
Other options would be Port Credit, West Mall as they may have players moving to AA. Or maybe Applewood find a coach..who knows..

There are some real kids who are suffering, so one shouldn’t make this a laughing matter. There was a kid who has been kicked out of the Heartland team mid season as the parent and coach got into a yelling match with each other. The league allows it as they can’t get a coach to teach A hockey. Better this crazy psycho than no one…Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 3:15 pmLove the drama and gossip..keep it coming... Hope MHL gets back to having 5-6 teams like they used to before

Is this move confirmed? And would it be for all years?Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 10:38 amMHL said they are going to play in a new loop with OMHA teams like Oakville, Milton. This one?Guest wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 9:29 am The move is on MHL website. It doesn’t say which year and level.

That's for this current year of hockey....nothing about next year that I can see
Re: 2013 A - MHL/GTHL
thats correct. Not sure whats the plan for 2024 season..I doubt OMHA teams like oakville, milton will play in this loop. One reason is that OMHA A teams have hitting ( once hitting starts) while I dont think MHL A teams have hitting
Re: 2013 A - MHL/GTHL
MHL A and GTHL West are "merged" from U11 and younger. This won't change, it's what is needed for A hockey in the West GTA. The current U11 division was the first to do this last year and it's the way it is now.
