lol, some of this is so very true.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 12:17 amI disagree. Stay in Oakville. You are going to have to stay there in the end anyway (if the kid is any good).Guest wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 1:23 pm From personal experience, I suggest leaving Oakville. In Oakville you will be at the mercy of the politics with no options. Lots of dad coaches and the self interest and boys club that comes with it. There's a reason why the Oakville parent's and players are never smiling.
Might as well get in now, find the dress code for the country club and start smoozing now. Make sure you install a pool if you don't have one, invite all the team over to swim as often as possible.
Even better if you can host the team parents party, or sponsor it @ The Landing.
You're in Oakville, so from a hockey view you are stuck in Oakville. It is not a bad thing if your kiddo turns out to be decent as time goes on, Oakville ices some pretty good teams.
Except for the part that you have to stay in Oakville. If you really want to go to the G there are many ways to get there. You just have to plan months ahead. Talk to some gthl coaches and they can guide you through the process. You never have to return to Oakville. It’s been done hundreds of times.
