MR coach takes cost that equal his sons portion of the budget -$7k
TYN coach takes 40k for a parent bench - $8500
TM coach doesn’t take anything - budget is $6000

Guest wrote: Thu May 16, 2024 8:46 am Is this really a point of discussion. Every parent loves their kid and will do whatever it takes for their kid to be successful. Do any of you think in a million years your kid playing for a parent coach will care more about your son than their own family.

I am not saying don’t play for a parent coach but just be aware of the reality. If you’re a hockey guy and your son plays hockey you will want to coach them and will as long as possible despite people advising otherwise. All three parent coaches are hockey guys and powerful in their orgs. One actually runs an ohl team. I would say none are leaving anytime soon.
It is really not about caring about your kid more, this does not justify anything. It is about fairness and the understanding that you have a responsibility as a coach to develop ALL the kids equally and to the best of your ability. If you signed up for this position all the while having an alternative motive ( your kid) then that is all that really needs to be said about your character isn’t it?
A lot of these guys honestly believe they are doing you a favour b/c they “ know so much about hockey” ….the self deception and internal justification is strong in these type of people!
What are the budgets like for these caring individuals?
The generally accepted conduct is if you are a parent coach you do not take any compensation, bear in mind this is for a somewhat reasonable person. However there appears to be some that are in fact taking compensation, again a very special type of person does this…. One that perceives themself as a righteous hockey god. The values you want your kid to learn and proceed life with.

2 out of how many ? And who are the two ?
There are 3 parent coaches

MR has a son who’s a D
Nats has a son who’s a F
TM has a son who’s a D

MR son is a legit AAA player
Nats son is a AA
TM son is a AA+

MR has only one dad on the bench
Nats have three
TM has one
Nats have two sons whom are F.
You’re kidding right ?
Unfortunately not. The HC and AC both have sons who are F, the other AC is the uncle of one of the two sons, and the HC son won an award at the organization banquet. Coincidence???
