It amazes me how few people understand the rules of player movement in our current state.

Unless the rules change, no one in COW, WW, NS, Pboro, KJG, QRD, YSE or NCP can go ANYWHERE until u18 unless they get (1) Released (2) Cut (3) Physically move or (4) Do the fake separation. And if they get released or cut, they have to get through an LOR before they can get to the city.

Here's to hoping this changes. But as of now, that's how it is.

I think there’s always a parent or two on most teams that would argue they have the worst coach in the league.

couldn't agree with this more. GAA isn't a true depiction of the goalies skill, lots of goalies on weak teams get peppered with 30+ shots a game but let in a few. goalies on strong teams see less than 12 shots a game and still manage to let in a couple.
Kjg have the best goalie in the age group faces 40 plus shots every game he plays
You better have the best goalie because you have the WORST coach in minor hockey!

Doesn't AAA have open borders anyway. I mean, once you get a release from your home center, you can play AAA for anyone else in either the G or OMHA. Not sure what else you want.
I think you just answered your own question there

At U14, LOR kids (Markham and AP) on the ETA side can go west to the G freely. They cannot go east without getting cut or a release. Kids not in an LOR center (WW, COW, NS, etc.) are stuck there till U18. Even if they get cut or released from their home centers, they can be stopped at AP and Markham before being allowed to go to the G.

But yes, open borders within the ETA would be ideal.

There was a rumor to this effect last year. I don't think it's a bad idea to merge APR and WW to maybe make a more competitive team.

The amalgamation was about size of centers and # of kids trying out for AAA. Has nothing to do with competitiveness. Whitby pulls a lot of kids in tryouts. AP not so much.
Agree with dissolving kingston. Some would go to HEO and others west to Quinte.
Open port hope residents up to NSW instead of quinte. Balancing the centers would make the league more competitive.

Dissolve kingston and give choice to go west to eta (quinte)or east to Ottawa. Amalgamate Whitby and AP, dissolve NCP and give choice to go to cow or Barrie.
