Who are some of the top players in the A loop?
Top Goalies?
Top Defenseman?
Top Forwards?
Would have been cool if an All Star Type game would be played. East vs West.
I know there was some player movement so its not neccesarily about next year, more about the year that passed.
I think NYK had the best goalie.
LF had the best Defenseman.
Forwards. Some good ones out there. I'd have to say TRT.
An All Star game would be awesome. I'm just not sure who should/would select the rosters.
I agree that in U12, Leaside was the best overall defensive team in the East. MI had a great player who plays D and F, but the team was inconsistent.
IMO- NYK and ARD each had one of the two top goalies, but their secondary goalies were considerable steps lower.
TRT probably had the best forwards overall, but NYK had 3 star players who scored most of their goals and ARD had the two top scorers in the loop (GFA of 3.21, compared to the next highest of 2.97 belonging to TRT, with LF and NYK tied at 2.59)
The best way to do it would be to have the Coaches from the Top Team, East & West, from Regular Season not Playoffs, pick the teams. They have seen all the kids from the teams in the division. Yes this could lead to favoritism (think Cito Gaston taking 7 Blue Jays) but a coach with good integrity could pull this off. Maybe Cap it with a Max of 5 from your own team and the rest from the other teams. You also dont have to limit to 2 goalies. You could take 3 goalies and have each play a period.
Leaside was the best defensive team for sure, but they also had the best defenseman in the loop hands down. Top 3 goalies in the loop, in no particular order were from ARD, NYK, and SIR. All 3 of those teams also had serviceable 2nd Goalies. TRT, LF, NT also had decent goaltending but those 3 stood out. As for Forwards, and was mentioned in another post, Aeros forward is right near the top, if not the top, forward in the league last year.
