They picked up the two top scorer brothers from EE. Not sure if that makes any difference/upgrade

And a mid pack player on DMM, also lost their top goalie to AAA

Surprised the TRT goalie didn't move up to AAA.

Apparently a couple of the D tried to move up but no dice

Apparently a spot with MM was turned down, surprised MM didn't want the goalie , better than the NT goalie.

Truth or half truth? Are they Parent cuts? I doubt EE cut them. And they were able to move on to a better team, You can debate how good NT is or isn't however they are quite obviously better then EE.

I happen to know the boys. Good kids. Good hockey players. They belong at the AA level.

Having an impressive hockey career doesn’t automatically make one a great coach. There’s a lot more to coaching than just knowing the game. Those young coaches’ eagerness to win at all costs may also be a detriment to the team culture.

This is a good point. NYK is run like a AAA team and with that comes pros and cons. Expect significant turnover each year as if your kid ain't cutting it or can be upgraded, it will happen. On the plus side, who doesn't want to win? They will be a perennial top team for years to come.

Those coaches know what it takes to win...and some soft parents' feelings will be hurt, like they have already with this year's cuts.

Forget about winning here for a second. They started with a 2 win hockey team 2 years ago and turned into a program where kids come want to now play.

based on where they started with that program… it is now a destination to play. Two years ago it was an absolute mess. DMM went down to A and EE is still rebuilding. Both had better programs than NYK 2 years ago. But yet they know nothing about hockey …

To be fair when you are THAT bad and at the bottom it isn’t hard to get to middle pack with some roster turnaround and new coaching. The real challenege is getting to the next teir and making a push come playoff time.

If it’s as easy as you claim, why didn’t DMM or EE do this? They haven’t because it takes effort and most parents do not want to put their kid on a basement team. Ask yourself what kind of players bottom feeder teams attract. Possibly higher end A kids and lower tier AA kids. If you think this mix will automatically get you into a mid pack you are so wrong on so many levels.

NYK head coach was the DMM assistant coach 2 years ago. Looks like DMM had a choice…. Wonder why they chose to go different directions… clearly the current NYK head coach had the right idea to turn around a program and people didn’t listen to him & let him go.

2 years later.. DMM in A and Nyk is not

Boys can play 100% why bounce around? Should we ask Dad or past teams?

The racist comments about MI are not needed. Who cares why people leave a team. Maybe the brothers Dad want more competition for his kids? Not always good to be the “top” players on teams. TR goalie is smart. Continue winning there is no reason to rush. Why is SYB a cult? Because coach and GM are close, isn’t that a good thing? EE great coach but hard to recruit when you are at the bottom. Teams in the loop should hope that these teams are more competitive. That is what should happen.
