I have been to them all with multiple kids. Tara is solid, if you are the star on the ice. if your kid is mid. no attention.
there are maybe a handful of coaches that are really top end.
by that I mean they are great with kids, have incredible skills on ice, are intelligent and articulate, with the ability to leverage technology for teaching.
14 years in this And there is only 2 who had this skillset.
The one thing I know is that figure skating coaches (that pretend to be power skating coaches are the biggest waste of money you will get. find a hockey player that is a good skater and they will teach you more than a tart with out any hockey experience.
agreed-figure skating has some important contributions no doubt, however hockey players need skating that is performance based for hockey. There are enough guys now that can do it, are continually learning from other great skaters, and the question now becomes, can they teach "your" kid to be a better skater. Being tired and sweaty at the end doesn't necessarily mean you've gotten better. ANYBODY can make you tired, few can make you better.
