The fact is the TM organization is not what it used to be. TM has only won 1 championship (U11) over all age groups in the past 2 years. During that same time VK has won 3 and JRC has won 4. AM has not even made the finals in 3 years even with stacked teams every year. From the results and comments on this site and so many players leaving it seems to be a coaching and culture problem. I don’t know where TM will finish next season but it will not be as strong as last years team. It’s just doesn’t have the same amount of talent.
I agree with the coaching and culture problem. I don’t agree with the talent leaving is better than the talent coming in.
JG from 2012 Oakville is a stud
Andrews from Quinte is very very good.
KL may not have high hockey IQ but he works hard and is a difference maker.
TM players going to VK are not much better. Many would say they are not better.
It’s debatable.
Good points.
JG from Oakville may have issues when contact starts, but he will be very good next year.
Andrews is not as good as any of the 3 players who left for VK. That’s not an insult to the kid but he’s a second line player on a top GTHL team and I would put KL in the same category.
KL is on the decline and I agree he would not be a top player on any top 3 team but he will arguably be better than JG or EA next year. As usual people on here seem to talk about how good a player is based on their ability 2-3 years ago. Anyone who has seen JG or EA within the last 6 months knows they aren’t those players any more. Not even close actually. JG had a rough start in Italy but finished strong, but it wasn’t exactly elite competition. I’ve seen EA play twice this spring and he was not effective at all. Both are perimeter players who can still make something happen if given time and space, but that will be harder to come by this year.
They are good additions for TM considering they had nobody else but they do not make that forward group better than last year.
