You are correct when you say that playing and developing is important. That has to be priority number one. But I’m sorry man, you are so wrong if you think that OHL teams don’t send their 16 yr. Old players to pay in the GOJHL. Its a
Younger league than the OJHL.
I can truthfully say that 10 of the 12 players on our u16 team that are playing Jr this year, as a 16 yr old, were sent there by their OHL team and all started low on the totem pole and worked their way up to top 6/top 4 mins. The 11th is full time OHL and 12th earned his Jr spot on his own.
So ya, they do care man. And they do send players to affiliate teams. Thats why they have control of the 16yr old spots on almost all Tier II and Jr B teams. And please read what I said…..Almost all teams. Not all teams.
False all false information, 16 year olds get very little ice play U18 and get all the ice time .
You really are an idiot. I can’t even begin.
Listen people, from experience, if your boy can cut it and is ready to work his tail off and learn how to play with the big boys, you’ll get plenty of ice at jr. And develop just fine. And when the 17 yr old season comes, you’ll flourish while the rookies learn the game all over again after their year at u18. So many are afraid of jr. But if you do the work to find a good situation and little johnny can deliver, all will be fine.
Yes, this is what we’re being told too. Team he was drafted by (sixth round) want him in Junior B not U18. Some players we know though are being told to go to U18 but they were later picks, if that means anything.
Lmao Troll
How does sharing our experience make me a troll? SW Ontario teams often place their upper-mid round picks in Jr B. Competitive, fast hockey. Ability to call them up as needed as they’re close. For those being told by teams to play U18, are they USA OHL teams or central and eastern Ontario teams?
Expert here …make sure this is the site to get advice from , ignore your teams and agent ….lol
