Improved - NYR, Marlies, Titans
Declined - JRC, Nats, Sens
Titans & TRW made the most significant changes in a positive direction.

JRC, Nats made the most significant decline.

Marlies are the same or worse. Softer up front and slower on D. Back up goalie is questionable. Zero positive additions.

Sens will improve slightly.

DMF is in decline. Top goalie and entire D core gone.

VK, NYR & MR will all be better.

MM & Reps same or worse.
The standing are going to be the exact same at the top. Can’t see how any one has a chance vs NYR, but the 2-5 spots (JRC, TM, REBS, VK) will be a dog fight, DMF TRW TITANS, SENS AND NATS are the wild card for the final 3 playoff spots. MM and REPS will be in for a tough season.

Totally disagree with many of these predictions.

Titans and TRW - will definitely improve. But not to the significance that everyone is touting...TRW starter has already peaked, and they have one "star" coming down...other than that additions are questionable. Titans have some solid forwards additions, but d and goalies average at best.

JRC, Nats - agree with most significant decline, will definitely suffer.

Marlies - will decline. Starter is small, backup weak. Lost many of their strongest to Titans and others.

Sens - most certainly will decline. Got rid of most of their best players, kept slow, big D and added small forwards. New goalies are a big step down from previous.

DMF - most certainly will decline. Lost both goalies, and top D. Never scored to begin with. New starter is average at best.

VK, NYR and MR - agree with NYR improving, VK and MR questionable. HW is great d but toxic in the dressing room and unpredictable, will be interesting to see how rest of team and coach responds to him

MM and Reps - MM will be the same, no significant movement. Reps will improve - new well respected coach, almost all new players, solid starter

So what we are all saying is the above average skating defenceman with above average size will probably end up going further than the great skating defenceman with below average size.
Thats what you are saying above average dad. if your kid is like you , above average, he will likely play above average hockey. Maybe a cup of Tea in the OPJHL. You need to be EXCEPTIONAL to have a chance of going to OHL/NCAA. You need to be a top 2-5 percent player your age. If your son does not have over a point per game in minor midget, he will not be a top pick. That is the truth. Points matter more than size. If you have a combo of 6"5 and lots of points, you are set. If you have a forward that is 6"1 and has 5 goals 8 assists all in 36 games you have almost 0 chance of going on to the next level, unless you are a fighter/ defensive star.
Go talk to guys who just got drafted. Some of the best skating dmen( asian) got drafted late because of their size. They are incredible skaters and have been on top teams since the brick days. They can skate and score but guess what SIZE MATTERS, HITS MATTER, IQ MATTERS.
... lets be honest, you more than likely know nothing about that age group, who was good, who was not good, who was a star when they were young etc. what is clear is that you are expecting your son to be BIG like dad and are praying that scouts will over look his lack of talent. Money says your kid had less than 20 pts all season and you are the WAIT TILL U14 my kid will be a STAR!!!!
Your presumptions and assumptions are just laughable. none of you will be watching your kid play OHL or higher. Go drink your beer and smoke your dubes you bunch of losers.
