Based on comments seems like only top 3 teams in GTHL are competitive. How does this benefit kids playing hockey when there is not enough talent spread out. OMHA probably has better competition. Plus GTHL parents just seem too obsessed.
Based on results OMHAs best teams are behind the GTHL top three. Ideally there should be a 12 team all Ontario league, like Champions League in Europe, to which the best teams from all associations qualify in the fall and then play real top devision in the Spring. So from the two rounds in GTHL JRC, VK, Marlies and (e.g. Nats) would go there, from OMHA there would be Quinty and Oakville and COW, from Alliance Elgin and (e.g. London/Halton) and then Eastern Ontario, Myers and Sudbury. That 12 teams could play home and away round robin and then playoffs.
That would be build up top level competition while letting half of the season to be played in the associations.
But I am sure Ontario Hockey would never allow that. Too radical for the sleepy hollow..
