Meh, people are happy that the redundant, archaic and ineffective leadership is out. May change happen, how much will happen, time will tell. At least now there's a chance. The old crew literally HURT the game.
Here here
YES - wow - look at all the changes. White males removed from all the Hockey Canada ads on TV..............because that's the reality of hockey in Canada.
What a joke.
When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.
Please - explain this privilege you speak of? I just pointed out that there is a HUGE inequality in terms of how hockey is portrayed in hockey commercials versus how it is in REALITY. Is that equality, or is it virtue signalling?
Yes, commercials are not entirely accurate to how the reality of hockey in Canada looks. There is an over-correction in advertising in general. I don’t think I‘ve seen a white straight couple in a commercial all year. Haha
But this is because there was a decades long UNDER representation of people of colour, women/girls in sport and Not Allowed people in advertising, movies and television. Now they are overdoing a bit. See how that bothers you? That’s how other groups felt for the past 50 years. The previous poster nailed it “When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression.”
Suck it up, you’ll be fine.
Seeing one particular ethnicity in a commercial isn't a "privilege", lol. It's a business decision made by the people marketing their product.
Nowadays, campaigns have morfed into virtue signaling driven by fear of the woke mob. These companies / organizations are kneeling to people who want to be included, but aren't actually interested in what these companies / orgs have to offer.
Trying to grow the sport by selling lies to communities who aren't actually interested in hockey is a colossal wast of time and money.
