My kid played in this tournament on the weekend. I'll be honest, it was weak competition, very weak. Both Caps and Wml will struggle as people expect, it is what it is. Not everyone will be a winning team. Caps won't be as bad as some predict here is my guess next season but we will see when real hockey starts in Oct. Wml look weaker than last season, I thought they had some decent players that I guess they have lost, and appears have replaced with ST kids, HVS cuts other randoms. Their best player in this tournament is also not actually on their team. Tourney was fun for the kids, and that's about it.

The benders cup and showdown in the 6th was a much better tournament. Strong spring teams with a mix of AA and AAA. I just watched the caps and westmall game on livebarn. Caps had a few callups as they are short 3 players and westmall was pretty much their team. Callups made a huge difference for the caps. Extra goal scoring and strengthen the D core a little. In my opinion both teams will be in the bottom 5. Caps are small and will struggle against bigger teams. Jets, rattlers, Eagles will dominate and take over against the caps. Westmall looks about the same, they lost some stronger players and replaced with other team cuts. Hard to judge though as caps are just a spring team. There shortening the bench to showcase some AAA callups. I’ve watched streetsville, rattlers, wolverines, beast, sharks and they are just running their core. It’s the fall that counts but playing with your friends on spring teams is fun too.

The board is great this time of year, debating spring hockey, thinking it matters, Caps ask everyone to play for them, or someone WANTS to play for the Caps but just settled with a top 5 team instead :lol:

I swear 65% of what is said on this board is total lies and bs, and that's probably the low end.

Hope the kids are having fun playing spring hockey, i'm being serious with that. Because that's all it should be, it's going to have the smallest impact on next season. Don't get burnt out and hope the kids are active with other activities to avoid injury.

Give yourself a big pat on the back fellas. Regular season those call-ups are not there. But it’s always nice to pay and showcase a few AAA players.

JRC kid scored 3 goals. Did their actual team actually score? Who are they fooling. It’s spring hockey so all ok.

You made the right choice. Rattlers have solid coaching and top 3 team. Caps beat westmall 3:2 with 3 callups. Once spring is over the call ups are gone and the circus begins. Give yourself a big pat on the back. 3:2 against westmall. Join a real tourney.
