Orgs don't fire a coach midseason because of a loosing slump. And it's rare for a coach to walk away mid season, particularly if they want to continue coaching. Things like this are almost always due to parent discourse, and coaches will ride it out and make parent cuts the following season. But in some cases, cancerous parents are able to drum up enough turmoil and gain support from the bleachers, that the org will let the coach go. In other words, the coach won't tap out...but he's happy to walk away when the org says its time.
