100 percent. Parents are overlooking this skill. Show me an elite skater and I can make him a good player. If kid can’t skate now- he ain’t ever going anywhere.

100% true

Agree with this. Skating at aaa compared to aa is a huge gap. Same gap with skaters a to aa. Don’t forget folks skating is the most important. Without it you cant make a good player.

Its not hate as much as it is clariying that the level these kids are playing at is not AAA so dont expect the impact to be that of a good AAA kid coming down. If they are replacing a kid who is going up most likely the team is getting a bit worse from a talent stand point. Not saying this is the case with SYB more in general. Parents will say we are getting 2 AAA kids but whennthey join the team they are closer to.middle of the pack. While sometimes you have a kid come up from single A and they will be a top AA kid right away.
This is so true. Many (not all) kids coming down from AAA effectively lost a year of development because they were the 8/9 F or 5/6 D and weren't given opportunities in meaningful minutes or on the PP/PK. Whereas the A kid coming up was likely the #1 F/D and played all the big minutes and was the one responsible for making plays.
Lol there is a HUGE difference and it isn’t even comparable skill wise… practicing at the A level for a season or the AAA level. A players coming up struggle way more to adjust… just the nature of it. AAA player coming down it’s all confidence issues in comparison to actual skill. There is an adjustment period whenever you move up a level or move down. Don’t expect an impact from either an A player or AAA player for different reasons.
This guy knows what he's talking about. previous poster has a A kid and is over indexing him finally making a bottom feeder AA team. Real AA/AAA kids are wired differently. A level is super causal. Nevermind skill but their skating is way better than A kids. lots of overlap between high AA/low AAA so those kids are interchangable as we all see yearly.,

Lots of close games between MI, TR, SYB, NYK and LF.
NT may be in the mix too. SIR, EE & FH will steal points off each other
Most changes = rebuild = challenges. they will finish 5th.
