Might be but 2 years is a looong time
Things will change drastically
Does anyone know anything about the Toronto Stars? I’ve have read a ton of stuff about the two Raiders teams and the Aces, but nothing about them.
Everything I know about the KSL is that they are having a hard time rostering players, high fees and not much starting to make sense for parents to go that route.
Okay this isn't turning into an NYHL/KSL propaganda war. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything good or bad or otherwise about the Stars.
I don't think it was meant to be a war with that comment. It is fact that they cant roster and the fees are high. Toronto stars are apart of the GP / NYR series of teams. Do your research on who is involved there
I'm not asking about the KSL or their fees or if they're -allegedly- having problems filling their rosters. I'm asking specifically and only about the Stars team. As to doing my research, that's exactly what I'm (trying) to do.
That said, thank you for the info about them being a part of GP/NYR, that is helpful. I just read that someone on the 2015 AAA thread said that the NYR were going to be terrible in this age group. I wonder what that opinion is founded on.
Im going to go out on a limb here and say the opinion was made due to them skating with what is looking like will be the feeder team into the NYR AAA team. Also being in GTHL for many years now with my other children, NYR are always a bottom feeder as are the TRW and TT, its just factual information. Unfortunately the top GTHL teams (JRC, TYN, TM, VK) will always draw the most interest.
To answer your previous question about the Toronto Stars - I would stay away

I just did a quick calculation and if you take the U10/U11/U12 years over the past two years, NYR have a average winning % of .51 and .53. This would make them average teams and not bottom feeders. TT posts a less than impressive .116 and .25 winning percentage. You were half right at least.

Sorry just noticed that you included TRW as well. They're average winning % for those three young age groups over the past two years is .313 and .369, so your winning percentage just went up from .5 to .66! Congrats.

Glad you did some homework, now should you choose any of those 3 teams or their affiliated programs next year, well its on you.
2014 AAA - all those teams will be hard pressed to win 10 games

Anyways moving on (we all know TM, TYN, JRC, VK) will be the go too teams for years to come.
Does the NYHL look to have at least 5 tier 1 teams in it next year?

I can't predict the future, I'm just going on their previous record and it seems that NYR is a slightly above average team with a few first place finishes here and there over the years. They might not be a JRC or MM, but they shouldn't be compared to TT, MM or any Miss team, that's for sure.
