If you take NYR 2012 out of the equation, NYR basically has a similar profile to MM, TRW, Reps. I think VK, TM, JRC are typically near the top of the standings every year. One of the Mississauga teams is typically mid-pack every year, along with DMF and TYN. TRW, Reps, Titans, MM generally near the bottom. Always exceptions in every year. MM has won the 2010 age group the last two seasons.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 3:26 pmGuest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 1:42 pmIm going to go out on a limb here and say the opinion was made due to them skating with what is looking like will be the feeder team into the NYR AAA team. Also being in GTHL for many years now with my other children, NYR are always a bottom feeder as are the TRW and TT, its just factual information. Unfortunately the top GTHL teams (JRC, TYN, TM, VK) will always draw the most interest.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 1:33 pmI'm not asking about the KSL or their fees or if they're -allegedly- having problems filling their rosters. I'm asking specifically and only about the Stars team. As to doing my research, that's exactly what I'm (trying) to do.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 1:22 pmI don't think it was meant to be a war with that comment. It is fact that they cant roster and the fees are high. Toronto stars are apart of the GP / NYR series of teams. Do your research on who is involved thereGuest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 12:06 pmOkay this isn't turning into an NYHL/KSL propaganda war. I was just wondering if anyone knows anything good or bad or otherwise about the Stars.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 9:25 am
Everything I know about the KSL is that they are having a hard time rostering players, high fees and not much starting to make sense for parents to go that route.
That said, thank you for the info about them being a part of GP/NYR, that is helpful. I just read that someone on the 2015 AAA thread said that the NYR were going to be terrible in this age group. I wonder what that opinion is founded on.
To answer your previous question about the Toronto Stars - I would stay away
NYR 2012s just lost in the finals
Basically if you want to play AAA, find a place where you like the parents, you like the coach and you are comfortable driving. I have an older kid playing TRW - we like it, it works for him and works for us as a family. Is he winning a ton, no not at all, has he had a good experience overall - definitely. Is there somewhere that could be better for him next year - probably and if the opportunity arises we'd probably go somewhere better for us as a family.
