Tampering is out of control

Is it really tampering at the U14 age group? Everyone knows everyone and you don't know if the parent called them first or parents talked to each other.

Development is the last thing this league is about. You need to pay extra for that outside of the league. It's all about recruiting. If you haven't been recruited yet for next year, good luck at "tryouts".

There are coaches in the league who were great with development, I agree not tons of them but they are out there. Most coaches, and parents prioritize winning over development. They chase spots on the top teams, those teams stay strong regardless of how good or not the coach is. Way it is.

Anyway, tampering? It's inevitable with the system we have, but don't fool yourself. Most coaches do not reach out to players. It's parents talking, or a parent contacting a team.

In this particular case, it seems the 2 of the coaches are taking their kids and like 3 others plus a goalie to a rival team, literally leaving the other team with nothing. We’re not talking about “I just finding a better environment for my kid” they’re taking the top half of the team with them. And one of the coaches already did this to another AA team they were with last year.

This is the shit the GTHL needs to crack down on.

Most coaches don't reach out to players. They have their "representatives" do the talking for them.

Sounds like you're angry your little guy wasn't asked to join the group. Nothing the league can do. Happens all the time. It's only minor hockey, take a breather.

Foff Pal. You don't get it! We have a spot, play/paid on the team, get cut before there is a Bday Skate or Tryout. Somehow everyone on the team knows and won't talk about it. It is brutal and way way way too early.

How about not approving the roster on the other end. Then holding the coaches of both teams accountable bet that starts to at least curb this shit from happening so much.
