to be clear the 3 or 4 kids on the ice with the current team or at least 70% of it happens a lot.

The coach has nothing to do with it, he organizes it behind the scenes and then hires a skills guy to run it. He cherry picks the players on his team he wants there and bingo there you go.

He gets to see the players on his current team that you know and trust (as much as you can these days) out there against other potential players.

What they do is bring 3-4 kids to skate with their existing team at one of their practices. This happens from time to time.

But

This is the best way to get caught for tampering. If it is your teams ice time and the team paid for it bringing in other kids is asking for trouble. There are going to be parents on the current team that are paying for ice, so other kids can come in and take their spots, they will complain to the GTHL. It is pretty easy for the GTHL to investigate since it is team ice time.

The G doesn't give 2 craps about it. They like to collect their fees and turn a blind eye. If you think they aren't paid to look the other way for this and more, you're fooling yourself

We’ve had a couple new kids at our regular team
Practice last few weeks. Once cuts were announced new kids showed up.
