There is only 2 kids from Toronto
Looks like 8 from ottawa

Phone calls have started…..
A couple players left off the list who you would think would have definitely made it.
There always is. These guys have watched hours of video on all these kids, so they must have a certain type of team in mind. When you get to this level there are always more skilled kids left off the roster, but maybe they seen that kid take a few shifts off and not back check, possibly seen some poor sportsmanship, lazy in their own end etc. That being said, there are a couple headscratchers on there/not there for sure.
Everyone knows how this team was picked. You can think there was some hockey strategy involved, but for half the team, it was all appearances. The team that wasn’t picked would beat this team 8 times out of 10.
Lol, yeah ok bud

I honestly don’t think the whole region thing came into play here. Some will say they the Director is from HEO and he took too many from there, but most of the coaching staff is from the G and they hardly took any from there which is puzzling. Others will say Politics, blah blah blah, bottom line is the group picked this team because they thought it gave them the best chance to win, period. You can disagree with the choices, that’s the fun part about these teams, but don’t say there were hidden agendas or politics involved. You just sound like your one of the kids that didn’t make it or didn’t get an invite. I don’t think any 2 people would pick the same roster. One thing is for certain is this team is stacked.

Ask anyone that has played in OHL…you need to be top 10-15 players in your league to get a sniff. Lots of talent in an entite province, big boys come from the farms….What you see here,
are the top 2 rounds with a few exceptions, additions, kids that show well at the OHL cup etc.

if your kid is not even in the top 40, well you have to grind to get to the next level. This is your first experience of, Johnny got fisted because of politics… but it just inbiased reality of where they stack up to an entire province of players.

Some kids rise to the occassion, others hang up the skates for the party life. It is a blunt reality of how hard it is to climb the ladder.

Haha. Do you always teach your kid it’s someone else fault they didn’t succeed? I have met many like you over the year in minor hockey.

Well said. There were numerous so called “top” kids that were invisible in the 2 games in Kitchener. Some kids disappear when competition steps up. Easy to score hat tricks against bottom teams who are basically AA teams. Or maybe the kids just had an off weekend which happens, but that off weekend could have cost them a spot on the team, that’s hockey.
