It’s ok. Keep justifying this. We all know who you are and what you stand for. Congratulations!
Excellent. A team that is separate but equal. A team for the SCTA kids because they aren’t on par with the ‘SCTA kids’.

Close - it's if you have played in the SCTA anytime over the last 3 seasons you're still considered SCTA property. You will see it on all of the rosters. The G team is supposed to be made up of only players that are Toronto born or have played in the G for the last 3 years
It’s a load of bs. Once again a the rich and entitled are flexing their muscle to make their little boys feel important. Over half those kids don’t even know what the SCTA is and there are better players who weren’t even asked to try out. Sens will lose this like they lost in the playoffs. Pathetic.

Thin skinned? There are no tryouts. It’s just a hockey company putting together teams for a tournament on a weekend. It’s not that deep.
if you call a team SCTA shouldn’t it be made of kids who play in the loop? There are players who should be on this team but weren’t even approached. It goes to show that it doesn’t matter how you play because the same 2 dads, whose kids don’t even play in the loop, are allowed to run the show.
Let’s keep teaching our kids that hard work doesn’t pay off unless you have money.
This tournament has been around for years across multiple age groups. There are no dads running the show. Our league is so weak there shouldn’t be a surprise as to why all the players have left for the G and why so few are included on this group

Not going to single anyone out but there are questionable choices from the actual league as well as ones who used to play in the loop.

Find it hard to believe draftday picked this team. Hardly the best of anything.

These teams were picked months ago. They call you up - ask if you’re interested and then send you a link to sign up. I’m guessing some guy watched an early bird tourney, asked a few coaches he knows and then asks the guys that recruit kids for the agencies. It’s honestly not that big a deal. They are making money running spring tournaments. They hope to get some good kids - but there are no objectively best 13 year olds and they know it - so they don’t worry about it and cash cheques. If you can’t help your kid to have a little resilience about being left off one of these teams your kid is in for a tough ride in life. There is no fairness in hockey or life - as there is no omnipotent being that decides right from wrong. Buckle up and have some fun and don’t worry about this sht. throw the puck out there and get after it and have some smiles. It’s a game!

Our team doesn’t deserve any kids on the draftday team, but seeing only one from first place team and zero from second place but two from third place. Smells fishy. Unless those other kids said no?
Not a big deal but also not a great look. Just call the team something else like best of the best of the best only better.

The company is called draft day. The biggest spring hockey company is called pro hockey development and they are most famous for 9 year old tournament. The newest kid on the block is best of best. The most popular spring division is “elite” talking about 10 year olds. And this is the name that is over the line. lol.

And I don’t blame any of these companies. It’s decent business separating us from our money by stroking our egos about our average kids.

These spring tournaments are meaningless cash grabs. But if you have a team called SCTA then you should probably have more than 3 kids who play in the loop. I get that Elite in hockey means that you have more cash than the rest of us but I also know that if Draftday did a little bit of work they could put together a team of players from the loop that would compete.
I keep waiting for the time when talent will be recognized over a thick wallet.

That day my friend will be when the “nobody” kids get drafted while the “elite” kids get left behind chasing junior b and C teams
