Parents/kids will start caring soon when they realize U 18 is where they’re playing. Draft served some humility and when ohl teams finish development camp and ask player where they’re playing this year they’ll soon realize they aren’t making the ohl.

Only an idiot wouldn’t know going into development camp that they may not play OHL next season. If you’re not top two picks… no guarantee at all. But OHL teams don’t ask you where you’re playing… they set you up with a spot in Jr A/ Jr B or U18. Parents who think they have a commitment at U18 better be prepared to scramble as the development camps end and kids get placed in spots they thought were theirs

Yep will happen with every team so you need a backup plan for sure. Can’t wait to watch the boys who thought they were safe with APR get squeezed out. Happened to boys last year that thought they were set to play on that team.

APR just lost 2 forward recruits to NS. Both players jumping ship due to MB reputation of decommitting. Can only get away with that if you win.

All skates are is a fundraiser. It’s only April, curious what their skates will look like when recruits show up

Unless you are too 4 round pick, not many OHL teams will be setting you up. You need to have your own plan and only adjust it IF the OHL team has a plan for you. In most cases involving a pick after the 4th round, they don’t care or do any work for you. Remember, only 2 16yr old cards per Jr. team below the OHL. So not many spots available. And that’s if a Jr team even wants a 16yr old in their team.

Thanks poster but anyone drafted has an agent and a team been offered Jr and best u18 teams and no one is expecting to play in the O next year, all of us expect our drafted players to develop a year, maybe one or two may go, my son was picked pretty high and I do not expect him to go to the O. So stop being jealous of others success ! See you in u18 next year on your crap team.

This is true finally not an idiot on here. And also if you choose your u18 team you know if you spoke with gm if they are ok with it as in the ohl interviews you have these conversations, 6/8 teams were ok with our route .
So yes poster must not have got a call .
