Exactly! But let's get real kids now aren't quitting because it's a toxic environment. They were told they won't be on the team next year so they are pissed, so quit rather than see it through to the end and show other teams your skills.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 9:30 amNo but we as parents need to teach our kids how to deal with toxic environments. Lots of kids choosing to do that this time of year. There’s a few on each team. I cant wait for this season to be over, for most of us it will be on monday TFG.
No matter how bad it gets kids should stick it out until the end.
Do you endure a toxic environment or quit/leave?
The league won’t do anything either.

My kid has been on teams he’s being cut from, team that are blowing up and teams with A-hole coaches. He’s always stuck it out. Quitting is for quitters. If there’s abuse or a toxic environment call the G or Hockey Can or the media and make your kid safe. But if you’re teaching your kid to quit because he doesn’t like it anymore then you’re parenting poorly. I hope the kid isn’t on my kids team next year.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 9:47 amExactly! Everyones acting like its the kids quitting. 99% of the time the kids ALWAYS want to show up to the rink, they love the game.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 9:47 amExactly! Its you parents fed up with the situation for reasons we all know and you pull your kids from finishing the year out.
You putting your kid in a situation be does not belong in is your own fault and your setting them up for failure. The best situation for your kid is one he excels in!
Re: 2010 GTHL AAA
This is the most ridiculous decision. What kind of parent do you need to be to intentionally put your kid in that environment?
Re: 2010 GTHL AAA
These coaches are usually snake oil salesmen. Most of the time you don’t know what you’re getting until it’s too late. There should me safety’s in place to protect the minors playing at this age.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 11:42 amEveryones acting like its the kids quitting. 99% of the time the kids ALWAYS want to show up to the rink, they love the game.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 9:47 amExactly! A poor parent looking for freeeeeeeeeebies. Those who go will know they did their kid a disservice, those who stay are just as bad if not worse than the coach.
Re: 2010 GTHL AAA
I’m glad he’s back. Those who stay just get worse and worse. Imagine 4 or 5 yrs without a playoff game. Losers attract losers I guess one big happy family.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 1:30 pmA poor parent looking for freeeeeeeeeebies. More embarrassing for this organization than anything. Why put a guy who has threatened to shoot people right in front of kids in a position of leadership?Guest wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 1:30 pmA poor parent looking for freeeeeeeeeebies.
