I agree with this. Especially since some teams do not practice at all in the summer. Some teams practice a lot. I think that’s why there is such a large gap in preseason. Hopefully this large gap will narrow throughout the season.
Yes would make for a better season competitively. Games like 8-0 are not fun for any team.
Agree with that, early bird tournaments often don't predict who will be strong throughout the season but as one said who has been already skating.

BUT...I will say the changes I know happened on VR, and I'm going to add the Attack in here as well. We are in for a very unbalanced season. VP, VR and Attack are very weak teams that will struggle immensely against the rest of the division. It's a bit of a mess.
Were better players replaced for select? It’s actually sad to see what happened to the Rangers. A few seasons ago they were one of the strongest. Crazy what coaching changes can do to a team.

These teams are made up of many select players, and weaker existing players. Rangers lost their best players, including goalie and a dad...somehow to AA LOL. They were already a weak team last year so one can only imagine what is coming. They replaced many from a decent select team, I think that makes them not much better than VP. It'll be a long season.

Attack is totally new, replaced by the George Bell Titans from MHL A last season. Told even they aren't that entire team, lost their best 3-4 players, thankfully held on to a strong goalie they had. Attack were a good team last year, now you probably are replacing them with a team equivalent to the Rangers of last year, likely not even that good.

VP...well VP is VP. They at least have a chance to win this year.

Unfortunately the likely not even that good part might be true.

Other game was HVS 11-0 over VR. It's going to be ugly at the bottom this year.

Yikes. What a bad division. Competition is very slim. No teams. The Gthl needs to do something about this.

Division is going to be a pile of you know what this year. Probably should have gotten my kid elsewhere.

Solution:
- Body checking needs to come back to A
- Cut down on the number of AA teams. Bottom 3 at least should play in GTHL West A, they wouldn't even be top of the division
- Also look at merging with MHL A for all age groups immediately.
- Kill the NYHL, at least tier 1. Make a GTHL B division that is no checking.

They do this in the younger age groups, so not sure why they wouldn't here to help a 7-team division.

Panthers may be the best of the bottom 3 and will win a lot of games this year as a result.
