Ottawa U18 2022/23 Season
Re: Ottawa U18 2022/23 Season
Let's watch as the U18AAA rosters become public.
Anyone think they will actually be AAA caliber? Just slapping the AAA handle on the teams doesn't mean they are actually AAA quality.

The only fact we have is that HEO has failed to develop players during the most significant and impactful time in their development process. Too bad we didn't have better leadership to handle this issue at the Branch, league, AAA, AA, team and association levels to properly address this black eye on minor hockey here. The solution is evident, apparent, easily identified, already in place in private options, yet ignored by those in decision making positions in minor hockey in HEO.
It's quite frankly pathetic. Go, use your "alleged" stats to prove literally nothing. You actually prove my point, perhaps I should thank you.
Using CCHL website and elite hockey website. I looked up every player listed on every CCHL team found out where they played their minor hockey and used that data to come up with the number of HEO players in the CCHL.
The year before CCHL U18 the CCHL had 49% of its players were from the HEO area during the CCHL U18 reign that percentage dropped to 29%. The number of players that left the HEO area to play hockey elsewhere increased every year to a high of about 16 last year (U16 only). That number has dropped to 4 that I am aware of (U16 only) for this year. CCHL U18 is dead. The kids did not leave the HEO area. This is a positive. CCHL is out of minor hockey this a positive.
IMO the CCHL is a good league that needs to increase its the local content, rid itself of some awful money first owners.
Further the CCHL, as per the demands at the time from local players and parents, was for it to increase it's caliber of play and ability to compete with other Jr. A leagues who sent more players to NCAA D1. Yes the CCHL did have more local players, however the caliber of play was much worse. Other leagues such as the BCHL and AJHL, took the top players from as far as they could get. They were making progress, and the CCHL was left behind.
Local parents "think" their little stars are better than they are, and DEMAND more representation at the CCHL level. They want to force this in, and will be met with more failure. HEO has utterly failed at properly developing players to be good enough to play at the next level. It's so glaringly obvious and spoken about openly-in the right circles-it's sad it needs to be said again.
Having an HEO run U18AAA league will drive down the amount of local players good enough for the next level. The quality of play at current HEO U18AAA camps is horrible! There's no denying it, it's brutal. This will "hurt" HEO players, and their performance at "showcase" tournaments will further bring down the perception of the low caliber of player coming out of HEO.
HEO run U18AAA is not a positive at all. U18AAA is essentially dead. MORE kids will leave HEO as a result.
The CCHL should never force feed local players into it's league, if they are not GOOD ENOUGH to win a spot over others. That's ridiculous! IF they do this, MORE players will continue to leave at an exponential rate.
Yup, the BCHL, AJHL and NAHL are higher caliber. NO denying it. People like you think that forcing in more local players, who can't make it on merit, is the way for it to improve! I mean I can't stop laughing!!
How did your kid feel after he couldn't even make the low caliber NCDC?? Did he even try Jr. B??
Re: Ottawa U18 2022/23 Season
2003's in OHL 10 one in NHL 'sGuest wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 10:49 amGuest wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 10:29 amI am tired of proving you wrong.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 10:10 amGuest wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 9:59 amWhat colour is the sky in your world?Guest wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 9:38 amYou're wrong, it's 27% who play Jr. A or higherGuest wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 9:09 am
On average 10 players per birth year make an OHL team another 30 from the same birth year make a CCHL team. that makes 40 out of 85 therefore 47%. I do not count the players that make the Q.or move to other Jr A leagues. I am sure I could find 3 more to make it 50%. If you do not like my facts do the work yourself and prove me wrong.
Prove me wrong
How many 2006's in OHL, CCHL
How many 2005's in OHL, CCHL
How many 2007's in OHL,CCHL
I have done the work you try it.
So have I
Proving you wrong is easy
2004 in OHL 11
2005's in OHL 13 two in the Q
2006 in OHL 7
So 43 HEO players more than 10 per birth year.
The burden of being correct all the time is weighing on me.
you do the CCHL you are so proud of it.
it will be close to 30 HEO players per birth year
Re: Ottawa U18 2022/23 Season
My little bender is playing in another league. Thank you for caring. Sorry that no other league was looking at your little bender. It's okay maybe next year someone will care especially since so many teams are looking at him if that's the case he must not play in the CCHLGuest wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 7:54 amGuest wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 11:45 pmHey are they still looking at your kid that's not even on a tier 2 team funny delusional dad you are. HEO did what it was mandated to do, it's up to parents to do the extra if they want to. I have nothing against CCHL but better options are out there. If you know so much about hockey and the story behind all the players I'm sure you can figure this task out. For those committed you just have to look at the commitment site to see who is going where again not hard to figure out.
You also need some education on who and why players get committed, must be because you have not been through the process oh yeah right I remember lots of ppl are looking at your kid lol
Just look at the commitment list?!!? Lol bit you are educated on how this works!!??!? Ok sweetheart you keep showing yoir cards about how little you know.
You are on the outside looking in. That's a good spot for you.
HRO hasn't developed nearly enough players. Oh, sorry, I will correct myself, they don't develop players at all. That comes from private sources of development. HEO is so bad, many players are leaving 2-3 years BEFORE they are even eligible for any drafts.
Hmmmm, why is that. It's not in the CCHL realm yet, but know nothings like you still want to make that excuse. The reason why you are throwing a tantrum is because your kid isn't good enough for the CCHL! Ironically you so DESPERATELY want to be part of the CCHL, and because you can't make the cut, you rage against them.
YOU are the problem and the failure. Just accept it, it's easier that way.
Sure you are!! Ahahahahahahaha
You're an excuse boy
Enjoy the loser club sweetheart
Keep trying sweetheart, it's you who is full of rage. Your failures define you now. Why don't you take yoir little bender to another league?? I know why.
Good luck
Re: Ottawa U18 2022/23 Season
Friendly advice.
Three simple rules for deciding where your son should play:
1) Will be son play a lot? You have to play to be seen.
2) Who is the coach? Does he care about my son as a player and person and WILL work to get him to his goals?
3) Will my son have fun?
Notice that none of this has to do with making a "level" or a specific team. Too many parents care only about bragging rights even if their kid is miserable and in a toxic environment.

Speaking of miserable and a toxic atmosphere, how’s that NAHA league going? Anyone know if there are even games planned for this disaster?
Re: Ottawa U18 2022/23 Season
I hope no one wrote anyone a cheque in advance! The founders may be hoping it is forgotten.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 12:15 pm Speaking of miserable and a toxic atmosphere, how’s that NAHA league going? Anyone know if there are even games planned for this disaster?

CCHL can lead to many different opportunities.
How's not getting into ANY hockey? Does it hurt?

Excellent advice! I see players on our team who definitely didn't consider those 3 things. I'm hearing the same thing from other players/parents around the league and yes in other leagues.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 11:28 am Friendly advice.
