Swag. Competition was pretty good. The US team was really weak but COVID passport had a lot to do with it.
Every tournament is invite only. The coach picks the teams in this case the nominees are chosen by coaches and parents etc. then the tournament people and the head coach choose the team. Some good rules like only x number of players from each team.
If you kid was selected. I’d go.


Everyone who gets nominated goes. Literally. The kids aren’t scouted, give me a break. Kids who never had a prayer at playing Brick or BOB are going because they’ll pay. That’s the only criteria. Enjoy it for what it’s worth but these parents claiming their kid plays for “Team Canada” are crazy. Take it down a notch. There’s one asshole from Windsor with a 2011 kid who tells everyone his kid plays for Team Canada - and the kid plays AA Jr Spitfires. Headed for beer league by 16. Keep it real and enjoy the hockey folks.

Not sure if that was defensive, looked to me like they were just pointing out delusional parents

9nly delsion was thinking BOB was any different. Scouted haha. They have the worst coach EVER behind the bench of 1 of their teams. How much credit can you give them?

You’re right, SI is an amazing tournament and your kid plays for Team Canada just like Gretzky did. Same thing. Congratulations, you’re at the pinaccle of the hockey world!

Whose cares this is a cool experience for the kids but agreed quite expensive . This isn't about going to the show this is about having some fun and getting the opportunity to play with some of their friends on other teams. Anyone that thinks it's more than that is delusional.
