JRC is just a bunch of entitled babies, tell me the last time JRC was relevant when Hockey mattered in U14-U18
2015 AAA
Re: 2015 AAA
Re: 2015 AAA
Solid points but 2009 & 2010
Most of these kids will not be on JRC come U14 / U15
Same as Marlies
80+ % of the top kids now will not be top kids come u13
Maybe 5-10 total Brick kids in Ontario will stay relevant.
Check any age group.
Re: 2015 AAA
Completely untrue. The kids that played in the brick almost ALL get drafted to the Ohl. Is that irrelevant????Guest wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 10:06 amSolid points but 2009 & 2010

57% of Ontario Brick 2008s got drafted. Most of those were in later rounds as well. Still good but a better stat will be how many make an OHL team.

Anyone trying to draw a correlation from athletic performance at this age and 5-6 years from now, knows absolutely nothing about being a successful athlete.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 10:17 amGuest wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 10:08 amCompletely untrue. Re: 2015 AAA
Where will top u13-15 kids come from and where are they now? Will move from other provinces, developing in AA or perhaps in A, move from other sports?Guest wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 10:06 amSolid points but 2009 & 2010

Re: 2015 AAA
How can they come from other sports. My guy has put in about 2000 hours so far. Only 8000 more to go. Kids who can’t even skate yet can’t catch up to that. No chanceGuest wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 10:41 amWhere will top u13-15 kids come from and where are they now? Re: 2015 AAA
Anyone drafted after the 6th round is as relevant as any non drafted kid. They all end up in Junior B or fighting to make U18.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 10:17 amGuest wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 10:08 amCompletely untrue. By u13 many kids from OMHA & other countries move into the GTHL. A handful of AA kids move up. By u15 it’s all about athleticism and size. If you’re smaller, you better be a super star. Any kid who is over 6ft and can skate / play at a AAA level will get looked at. OHL teams look at potential of a kid long term. Any OHL player that gets drafted to the NHL is a big bonus for OHL teams. Same as NCAA scholarships. They don’t care if you score 30+ goals if you’re 5’4, and probably not growing much more, you’re not much of prospect. If you’re not a super star player at any size, you better have strong defensive IQ and compete hard. Top 3-4 kids on most GTHL teams get drafted. If you’re on Marlies or JRC at U15 or U16 you better be a top player otherwise you’re just a supportive player on a good team with inflated stats. If your child has a dream of playing in the OHL, this is the reality. Compete level and hockey IQ are huge. Watch the kids who back check, supprt their linemates well, make high IQ passes and play both sides of the puck. Toe drags, end to end hockey, scoring on low percentage shots and not passing on 2 on 1 will all be gone. Good luck

Only 2000 hours. Should be at 4000 by now if you want to go pro.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 10:57 amHow can they come from other sports. My guy has put in about 2000 hours so far.
