What are people doing during the summer?
1. Hockey all the way - camps, tournaments, all of it
2. No hockey until September
3. Short break in July, hockey on August

Where are kids playing in September?
1. Klevr team
2. NYHL
3. CDS
4. OMHA
5. Other
6. Playing up a year (GTHL etc)
Break in the summer for other sports with some hockey occasionally in the mix

NYHL

Spring hockey (instant regret, and won't ever do it again) and another sport at rep level for spring/summer. Occasional hockey (once a week, maybe once every other week) for the rest of the summer. One week long Camp near the end of summer. And our fall hockey team will start with one practice a week starting Mid July.

Next year KSL. Turning down "AA" OMHA U10 spot.

PSA. Don't play Spring hockey people - unless your kid has no interest in another sport. If thats all they will do all spring / summer, I get it. You need to fill the time with something. But, spring hockey is bullshit. Teams sandbagging for lower tiers so they collect trophies. No idea who is actually on any team. the schedules are stupid for any tournament we've been in. Spring hockey - SUCKS.

I know there were lots of people who told us this before we joined, but I just can't believe how much it sucks.

Especially stay away from the Carnevale league... biggest joke ever... my son played one year AAA level... most of the time teams couldn't put there team together on the day of a game so they just took kids coming off the ice from the previous game  ... one game there was only 1 goalie between the 2 teams so they turned the other net around... FFS... biggest joke.

Trying out Canlan’s YHL spring league for the first time and it seems quite disorganized. Game times not as promised on the website. Hoping this will get better as the season progresses.

All levels of spring hockey is a waste. Whether spring tournaments or 3 on 3. Kids don't show up to half the games and then you have teams which were promised to compete at a higher tier and charged more money ending up joining lower tier because they don't want to bother with practice. Also heard heard how bad the level of play is at some of these 3 on 3s. Luckily we didn't sign up to keep playing hockey all summer. If the winter team plays a few tournaments then its good and we may do so next season otherwise these dedicated spring teams are just a waste of time and money, especially at the younger levels. Some organizations though are more organized but not all parents are and the level of play is just all over the map.

I’m pretty happy with my kid’s 3v3. He is in the middle of the pack in terms of skill so it’s good for him to see how better kids play. I think a little bit of ice is good to keep them going at least for the spring. I know some parents are taking a break for the summer.

TB AAA had to be one of the worst parent and coach groups I have witnessed at the Bauer this weekend. Screaming and yelling for things that weren't there, coaches being kicked off the bench every game, kids running around trying to hurt other players and parents acting like they were the attraction at the zoo. It's 7-year-old spring hockey, RELAX. You have many years of screaming at officials to go, don't burn out this early lol.

They had to borrow kids from the elite team just to be competitive.
