Hahahahha thats what parents are saying. Have you watched 2013 or 2014 hockey at AAA it’s awful. Nyhl and CDs are not helping your kid improve it’s literally hindering your kids development
This is a bush league that will wash out just like all the others before it. Tier 1 NYHL or AAA GTHL is so far beyond this it isn’t even funny. Kids ankle skating down full ice doesn’t overcome bad coaching, poor competition and an organizational nightmare. Don’t piss your money away.

Re: Klevr
no but the post above you is right, there are so many parents how have been sold a bill of goods by their coach and have instilled some sort of fear that if they leave they wont play AAA or it will be bad for their development. These are naive parents who have their egos stroked by these "salesmen". I can think of two right of the bat the HC of the VR Red 2016 Tier 1 and the coach of the Duffield White Tier 1. That guy is a Realtor so you can imagine the shit coming from that guy. He has been using the Nats AAA for 3 years now and they aren't even that good of an organization. That has the makings of a disaster. Tell me where did you play to give parents the comfort knowing you know what you are talking about? I cant wait to see the score when they Play Vaughan White and East York 8 times a yearGuest wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 2:42 pmlol, actually a former KSL parent whose kid is playing U10 AAA. Re: Klevr
I've heard a lot of stories as I've been part of the recruiting process for a KSL team since late fall last year. Parents genuinely seem to want to join, but are truly afraid of the repercussions or exclusion from friend groups, etc.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2024 10:12 amno but the post above you is right, there are so many parents how have been sold a bill of goods by their coach and have instilled some sort of fear that if they leave they wont play AAA or it will be bad for their development. My mentality when recruiting: is come play here if you want, clearly I like your kid if I am actively recruiting you, but that doesn't mean I am offended if you go elsewhere. The only thing that rubs me the wrong way is the BS-ing. Not because I take it personally, but because there is a limited amount of time to add kids before the majority have jumped onto other teams. Once a kid has a verbal agreement with another team, I won't include them into potential kids to recruit any more. I don't think that's the right thing to do.
If I am offering your kid a spot and you need to think about it, or aren't sure KSL is for you - totally fine. I gave multiple people a couple weeks to mull it over with multiple one hour or two long conversations (that they initiated). Some parents legit saying: "Yup, my kids going to play for you". Then a couple days go by and its, "Never mind, we are going to stay where we are, or play for a "better offer" "
I get there are still some coaches, or board members of some MD teams that straight up HATE KSL. Which is cool, I get it, there is active competition in the marketplace and your stranglehold of kids has been lost. But, parents, should try to not have the same mentality. Do what you think is right for your kid. There are still lots of quality kids in MD programs. You don't NEED to play in KSL to get to AAA.
I'd argue there are a few key benefits that makes it the right choice if the AAA pathway is for you. But, its not the ONLY pathway.
Re: Klevr
You have no idea what you are talking about. The DW and VR coaches have built strong programs and the kids have developed and will continue to develop. They will find ways to play competitive games and both will be foundations for top tier AAA teams next year. Don’t hate them because they chose not to go to the KSL. Instead respect that there are other viable options. VR in particular is a core of kids and parents that have been together for several years and have stayed loyal to each other and developed as a team. These are not naive parents who are getting their egos stroked.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2024 10:12 amno but the post above you is right, there are so many parents how have been sold a bill of goods by their coach and have instilled some sort of fear that if they leave they wont play AAA or it will be bad for their development. I think its a good thing. Its important for kids to be having fun and enjoying hockey. If they are happy playing with each other, everything else should be secondary.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2024 1:09 pmYou have no idea what you are talking about. Hopefully the coach looks for tournaments and random exhibition games to push the kids if they are that much better than who they will play against.
My one question would be, why didn't that coach and parents take the kids out of the program and not just start their own team? Rent ice, do development, and play games against better competition for likely WAY less money and no requirement to answer to the larger org rules.

Let me give you the facts, KSL / NYHL are both good it all depends on who's running the ship. the DW group will be the leaders going into u10AAA , they play close to 50 games a year and have recruited very well. The VR team has a terrible leader which will hurt them come AAA but those kids will all land somewhere.
The kids going KSL will have a small advantage for the first 3 months but it will all even out. They are U9's relax lol
