It doesn't make sense for GTHL kids they already have a high level league with local games and options for 12 teams to play on. For OMHA kids on the other hand, alot of these kids on these KSL teams are on stronger teams then what their u10 centre will be and will be forced to split up. for teams like that who would benefit staying together without residency rules could actually make sense as time goes on.

I think the borders are coming down within 2 years in the OMHA. Klevr is pre-AAA and I wouldn’t put my kid on a U10 bandit team that can’t play any in-season tournaments. Probably should be 4-5 Tiers in 2016 if there are over 30 teams.

Are there boarders in GTHL at AAA level?

OMHA will not remove borders and OMHA kids can’t play in the G at any age unless they live in Markham, Brampton, Pickering , Oakville.

If they live in one of those places can they play on any team in the G?

Above poster is confused. no OMHA kid can play in the GTHL without a release unless changing addresses until u13 ( maybe u14) then each team gets 4 imports and those 4 players do not need a release

This is very incorrect. Only applies to the Lake Ontario Region kids (Oakville, etc). If you leave in a regular center like YSE, Ajax, etc you would need a release from every center around you or move to an address in the G

At u14 to be able to get a release to the G you have to reside in Markham, Brampton, Pickering, Oakville. Other OMHA zones don’t have this option. At u14 the release cannot be denied

As an OMHA parent, I'd love for KSL to exist beyond U9. But - IT WOULD NEED to be a high end "AAA" league. if its "AA" level or lower, then it makes more sense to stay in our home centre.

I don't want to have to travel in week as much as AAA OMHA will require. IF my kid makes our AAA team next year - It will be a tough decision to accept the position.

OMHA AAA needs to use the KSL model of how games are organized once a month and then have exhibition games for teams in close proximity. KSL success is not just in full ice but the overall framework.
