At grade 5, its goalies, neutral zone brain fart, turning away from the puck, lucky bounce, if anything, the top teams have 1-2 kids that skate through and don’t pass, so top teams have problems too
SIR are now 0-10-0 with GF=3 GA=69. They are not even close, or ever close, to any other team. I suspect they would struggle in A.
Is this including tournaments?

Yes, sadly. They went 0-4 with 1 GF and 24 GA in the weakest group in the Oktoberfest Tournament. So, it's not simply that they can't compete in Toronto but provincewide, as well.

SIR and Aeros need to be sent down to A for the rest of the season. They're uncompetitive and the talent gap to the other teams is too much for anyone to think they could be coached up. It can't be fun for them to get a beatdown twice a week and it's a waste of time for the other teams and parents. There should be a review process in the G to remove teams that fail to put forward a competitive squad.. I know they probably won't do it because money/scheduling/parents whining but teams like these are really dragging down the league and at the same time probably discouraging their own players. Sure, it's early season and teams do improve but c'mon, these two aren't getting a single point this year unless it's against each other. I don't even think they'd beat the top A teams. Hopefully the G takes notice and finds a way to keep the league balanced and holds a standard for teams registering overly bad teams

Rant over. Apologies to anyone on Aeros/SIR, this is not your fault, I'm sure you all wanted/hoped to be good this year

Nah. Disagree. Even good teams have lopsided losses at times. The season is still quite early and the scoreboard doesn't purely reflect the competitiveness of some of their games.

It's a result of depth. Some teams have 4+ kids who can play AAA, some 2/3 some 1 or none. Hard to compete when you rely on two kids every night.

Big game tonight. North Toronto and Ted Reeves. Last year Ted Reeves was stronger last year but NT took their last meeting 5-2. Predictions?

If last year is any indication, what happens in October means very little.

I guess all of this means very little but a big win for Ted Reeves tonight.

The issue is the recruitment process. I’d say SIR has 6-7 kids who can only skate in a straight line. That being said, too much politics in tryouts and recruitment. Instead of getting the best kids they recruit parents that they know. But hey, if the kids put in the hour and the parents pony up for extra skates, the kids will be better by the end of the season, maybe they can string together a win or two.
