I don’t know how many but aside from a few who went AAA, another few moved over to Leaside’s AA team.

Ok. Dumbest comment ever. There is at least 10kids who will play AA and would be top 3 forward on teams 8-12 in AAA. How would I know. Ask the AAA coaches. Many of the kids got several offers from AAA. But why at age 9 would you pay $8-10k to be on a bottom losing team. When you could pay half and play for a championship in AA. Then use that saved money by not being in AAA for their skating/development.

Go ask any coach in U13-U16. The kids who played AAA just for their third A, are all back in AA. And the kids who went AA are now AAA. Over 2-3 years. The savings from AAA to AA add up to amazing development.

I know 6 kids who easily could be best on AAA but choose AA to save money/play w buddies/ Win.

Who? U will find out in 4 weeks. Have a great season everyone

It isn't just about money and winning. Toronto driving is brutal and the allure of playing all your games on the east or west side is big, especially if it is a multi hockey child playing family. How do you get a kid to the other side of the city by 5pm and get your other child to practice.

Also the pressure the kids are under and the parents group in AAA is ridiculous to put a 9 year old in. So many problems of bullying, cliches and breakdowns in AAA at a young age.

Keep it fun, keep developing and the kids will decide when they are 12/13 if they want to put the work in to make the next level.

Death, taxes, and AA parents convincing themselves they chose to have their kid play AA.
