Did Latvia outshoot Canada 56 to 26? Im pretty sure if you keep following Tennis enough you'll be ready to understand how other sports work one day too. Good luck to yea.

Cherry warned the CHL about allowing foreign players. Those kids go back to their countries programs and tell them what we have here and some countries now actually put resources into youth hockey.

Starts at the top

The politics that runs wild in every organization is a big part of the problem. There are very few AAA programs with quality coaching. Very few teams that pick the best or most talented players. Parent coaches selecting their assistants before tryouts is another big problem because you then limit who you can take - a lot of time the kids of these coaches are the worst players on the team. Canada will continue to lose on the big stage if changes are not made.

I am happy for Latvia. They outworked these cocky Canadian kids and beat them. USA will kill Canada...

One big problem is the politics of hockey. Most of these players were ‘chosen’ to be AAA players at the U11 level or younger. Very few players are given any opportunity to enter the AAA stream after that due to politics in minor hockey. We’re missing out on developing a large cohort of kids who would excel later on.

sounds like another bitter parent, always a huge gap between the players at AAA and AA (with a few marginal exceptions) but the AA parents only see thru their rose coloured glasses

How many of these Latvian players played in The Brick?

They are way more smarter, skilled and tougher than Canadians.
