2023 marks the 29th Anniversary of the Sarah Backstrom Memorial Tournament held in Erie, PA. This annual tournament is held in memory of a former Erie Lady Lion who lost a hard-fought battle with leukemia. Each year more than 1000 female athletes from across the country and Canada come to Erie to compete in one of the largest and longest running all-girls tournaments in the US.

2022 was our largest tournament to date with 70 teams from as far as Alaska and Oregon. Due to the availability of ice at 2 additional facilities, we fully expect to see the 2023 Sarah sell out with more than 100 teams!
