2 Orgs 1 team - in some age groups it might work but some it won’t.

Best thing to happen for Hamilton hockey is open borders. Hamilton will need to bring top coaches and overhaul their stale development guys if they want to keep / attract players. The lower income families on the Steel will no longer be tied to Hamilton because they can't afford the "address change BS". It's a win for everyone, especially the players. This will push other mediocre teams in the OMHA to get their houses in order otherwise the top talent will head to the G. Say goodbye to these centers having a say in where our children play.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 10:31 pm New OHF open border rules and already coaches breaking protocol. Coaches already telling people they have the team and tampering with other teams players. This is going to be a mess!!
Parent coach for U15 ..Guest wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 12:18 am Will be very curious to see if Steel actually step it up now. We pay more than some other local AAA teams for a very half assed product. Oh we get a development skate once a month what a rip-off.
Hamilton isn't that bad re. development. There are some pretty good players on the Steel (LA, TM, LD, CK) plus some elite players from Hamilton in the G (RE, PJ). Lots of other kids that are solid on the Steel and in the G. Overall Hamilton is a B- in the 2013 age group. Can Hamilton keep what they have and bring an RE back will depend on what they do with their coaching situation. Hamilton better build it if they want the kids to come otherwise the G wins.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 12:18 am Will be very curious to see if Steel actually step it up now. The good news for us is that RE has struggled in the G and may come back to be the best player on the Steel. He’d be an important piece of the future since undersized kids like LA, LD, AF probably won’t make the transition to hitting in U14. We need to start building towards that now.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 12:49 amHamilton isn't that bad re. development.
