Buddy I’m a Kings fan, he’s our third line center this year and now shockingly a millionaire who can’t play hockey. Just shows you that even if you can’t skate and have the connections you can make it. In his case he played the BLM card during his draft year and the Scarborough card. Little did anyone know he went to St. mikes and his family owned multiple properties in Florida.

Do you really think your kid is going to the NHL or D1? I'm talking about kids who are 9/10/11 years old. I get the impression that the parents who have good 10 year old hockey players really think they've got this in the bag and nothing is going to change between now and the time they turn 16.

What are you thinking? Sending 10 year olds to hockey academies, getting on planes every other weekend for games, playing up, moving to a new location for a hockey team, putting everything your kid does on instagram, moving teams the moment something doesn't go YOUR way. You've ruined youth hockey for many others. Thanks.

Having been through it with a kid picked late in the OHL draft a few years back, it literally means NOTHING right at that age. Until puberty/hitting starts, you have no idea. Sure, the best of the best at 9-11 are usually high end kids come then, but just because you're playing AAA right now, doesnt mean a thing. Let them develop, have fun, etc. The stuff I see on IG (parents creating accounts to highlight their kids is probably the most pathetic egotistical stuff I've ever seen tbh), etc is pathetic.

If they become a high end player in U14 then start thinking about it. Until then, literally means nothing.

My kid is in U9. He is very good for 9 but now the Brick talk has taken over. Everyone is obsessive about getting on a Brick team .. Bulldogs, PH Hockey, go to Detroit .. anything to get on a Brick Team. Skates are like $80, dropping $10K between winter and spring hockey .. all with the goal to get on a Brick Team. Everyone saying path thru AAA and O starts with the Brick. Currently getting the run around but kid on the ice 6x/week trying to get on the team. Literally, having 5-6 conversations about the Brick Team(s) every single day.

The obsession with the brick has gotten insane. It's about who can afford it, not about putting the best team on the ice. Who has the money to spend 25-30K to play for a Spring team?
