What an exciting game by this very talented 2008 AA group! I was on the edge of my seat the whole game. You could feel the intensity in the building with the animosity between these two teams. Huge turnout in the stands. Lots of action, puck battles, and shots on net. There’s some raw skill, I saw a few scouts in the building too and they were loving the action in this championship game. Lots of future junior hockey potential all in one barn, you got to love it. Crisp clean passes on the stick, barely any turnovers. You can tell these guys have been perfecting their craft for years, and it shows, especially in their skating. If these guys decide to move up, U18 AAA will be very competitive like this division.
Didn’t see many hit. Maybe one? The kid got rocked and went right to the bench afterwards lol he looked dazed
I noticed the ice time wasn’t equal and better players were played more. I know my kid wouldn’t want to celebrate if he barely played.
VR had a maximal 8F and 5D almost the entire season, while MB got several good players in Jan including AAA. That is the truth.
I watched the games. A couple players had hardly any ice time, minute shifts. Must be hard to be on a team like that even if they are winning, you didn’t contribute much.
The players who don’t see much ice time pay less
MB is a good team but not respected at all based on the way they deal with players
But at least they are one of the few teams that give money back if your kid doesn’t play many minutes
That’s correct my son played for MB/the same coach and at the end of the year, we got some money back. He didn’t get very much ice time at all & couple games he never even played. It felt awkward to celebrate at the end when we won, but the money back at the end of the year made it ok.

Remember this is AA, not AAA, that is why the MB coach should be blamed. In contrast, VR rolls all their players, including weak ones and unlike MB, VR keeps the same team for the entire season even if they have no full rosters. VR should be respected.

I get what you’re saying and respect that.
All I’m commenting on is my son didn’t get played much, he’s not one of the top players and we got some money back.

Nope we are going for triple. We try every year. I know we are probably on the aaa coaches radar as wannabes but why stop now. Keep the nhl dream alive!

Well they want to win. They added better players than your kid and unfortunately your kid got benched. Thats hockey! It happens all the time and at every level.
