Lots of solid MD kids all over the province. Hoping that they get an opportunity.

agreed. the issue is, they JUST started playing full ice and teams are almost full.

in a perfect world, everything would go to tryouts and they would have a bit more experience in full ice and they might compare to KSL kids. But, coaches don't know anything about these kids and therefore teams are almost full before tryouts.

What are the predictions for the standing in the OMHA?

If a strong player comes out to tryouts from MD, no team is full. However, if they similar then coaches are more likely to pick the kid that played for them. Unless they want to cut the parents

yeah, typically that goes for any tryout.
but, I have been to a couple of my nephew's MD games and watching the quality of hockey is awful... and they are part of one of the best teams in their loop.

Does YSE have any spots and who’s going there?

Im sure most of the roster is filled with KSL kids, but go to tryouts as usually they leave a few spots open to see what shows up.

Agreed, my son played Klevr last year and there was only 1 kid from MD who made it past the first round of cuts on his U10 AAA team. He was by far the best player the season prior but he wasn’t used to playing with good players. Their competition all year was also garbage as they were getting blown out or destroying teams. Balanced competition is so important.

Yeah.

You can talk a lot of shit about KSL (My kid is in the KSL, full disclosure). Cost, "elite-ism", tournaments vs regular season, Full ice vs half ice, etc...

but the one thing that I think is worth its "cost" is the balancing of teams, as much as you can at this age. I know there are some extreme cases like Young kings and Raiders teams not really having "peers" but at the end of the day they play each other every tournament at least and they wouldn't have peers anywhere else either. But for most, including our team, we have has had almost zero blow outs this year either direction. Typically a couple goals max.

that is the "secret sauce" of the KSL.
