Will the Eagles lose more players than they attract? Would the Eagles be the destination for any good players ? It's been a while since I've been around the rinks here but I know my nephews on AAA in Burlington are looking to get out and try out for Oakville - are Oakville now that much better program?
I can only speak for the U12 to U14 age groups but Burlington will definitely not be a destination spot for any top players. The only players who will stay are the ones who aren’t good enough to move to better teams. That’s just the reality of it.
As stated before any kids good enough has already left or never registered. The U14, U13 and U12 teams would look a lot different with players that previous left but those parents knew how shit the programs is.
Cons of staying in Burlington for AAA:
- Inconsistent and limited ice times (Lack of a fixed schedule)
- Inability to attract and retain quality coaches (just cause you played semi-pro in the past doesn’t make you a good youth hockey coach)
- Lack of dedicated development (NLT is total garbage)
- Off-ice development is pointless based on frequency and quality

The problem with AAA in Burlington will persist until the two organizations don’t put the programs best interest in front of their own egos. As such, best case scenario is a mid-pack AAA program which will continue to be a second or third choice for quality players when they get bumped from the top centers.

Obvious and pathetic cash grabs for an organization where the U14, U13, U12 age groups are all complete garbage. Have not won a damn thing in decades and they keep this nonsense up. The previous poster is right, this is just a spot where kids can pretend to be AAA players.

We don't have a single coach in any age group who anyone from outside of Burlington would recognize.
NLT is absolute trash you are right. Go take power skating on your own time and save the practices for system work like every other successful org does. It's not a learn to skate program! Our U12 and U13 kids still have no idea how to play real hockey and its sad.

The problem is ou have a lot of daddies who played for the Eagles themselves and don't know any different. the coaching they always had was shitty and they don't know the difference now

Doesn't make sense in an open border world. No guaranteed minimum number of skates.
