Rumour has it HEO regional OHL scouts picked the teams. Actually wait that's not a rumour it's what happened. Get over it, some surprises but not really at the end of the day.

Why are there rumours? Why not just be clear who picked the teams? Which OHL scouts?

Darrell Woodley is the Director of Central Scouting for the OHL. Blake Callahan is the OHL Central Scouting rep in HEO. Every OHL club has an HEO/Ottawa scout…it’s listed on their website and they are easily recognizable with the team jacket. It’s really that simple, not a secret. This information is available to everyone. Google is your friend.

They have a mandate to evaluate players, formulate lists (for their needs), and in the case of the Top Prospects event, identify players with the highest potential to play in the OHL. Angry posted this on Twitter.

There may be players not obvious to all, but they have something a group of these scouts value; skill set, size etc. They’ll fight for a player if there is something they want to see in a different team situation, especially good players not on a deep team. Every OHL team has a priority based on need. OVT has the top player in the league. How will he do against the top D?…also from OVT.

Any other questions, message Central or ask one of the scouts. They’re normal people who love the game.

100% teams were picked by regional OHL scouts. You guys need to stop whining. Just because your kid didn't get picked doesn't mean its time to hang up the skates. The same deal happened in the G, surprised and sour faces all around. If anything be happy for once players were pick unbiased and by them working hard. Get over your bruised ego, move on and stop sulking.

“OVT has the top player in the league. How will he do against the top D?…also from OVT.“ Hasn’t the OVT top player in the league already played against better D at tournaments. Scouts in Ottawa really need to see him play against his own teammates for a few shifts? What the hell are you talking about?

Scouts see OVT play top teams and OVTs “top players” buckle everything. They have yet to win a meaningful game.
