2016 MD OMHA

Teams like Barrie, Innisfil, King are dominating MD which is misleading. They all got blown out in Jan in tournaments and like the Barrie MD got handled by KSL teams. Someone made a comment earlier that they see no difference in player skills between MD and KSL but I don’t think they were looking at tier 1 nor top tier 2 players. Only exception here is the one VR and one Duffield team out of NYHL.

Keep an eye on the Oakville tournament this weekend.

Duffield and Vaughan are both there along with some
Of the better MD teams. Will be interesting to see if they can hang in with them.

Very very weak. No IG showcase profiles for MD kids if you haven't already noticed. And if you haven't had your kid on the ice 4-5 times a week for the past 5-6 years, that hockey ship has sailed pal.
Most will play AA next season and nothing wrong with that. They can try to make the jump later.
The gap between AAA and AA is huge this year, mainly KSL AAA and MD players AA and A.
Yeah I don't see why this is up for debate. Clear as day during the Cobras vs. Colts game.
Cause all the hockey moms whose little Jimmy got cut from a KSL team, is still believing that Jimmy is AAA bound due to the 3 goals he scored in MD.
Which parents are going resent their kid more 9 years from now when none of them are playing hockey anymore because they didn't play AAA at 9 years old or burnt out playing one sport 24/7-365 for a decade?
Nobody is even implying playing hockey 365 days a year. It’s stupid to do that and you can see some kids not developing further due to that but the parents think the solution is more hockey. The NHL did a survey on this and 98% of players played a second sport up to the age of 15. Limiting to hockey only kills athletic development. You may find that with some parents new to hockey thinking that’s what they must do but majority kids play other sports such as soccer, basketball, baseball and lacrosse during the summer.

Why are you looking up NHL surveys? Your kid won't even sniff AAA and you're gonna hate him for it.

See. This is where the results are not to be trusted. I can guarantee T1 Players played in that game for Cobras.

Cobras T2
Can confirm, Cobras T2.

Lets assume both T2 Cobras and the Colts MD had their full rosters:

During the last tournament Purple Cobras T2 and Raiders White tied 1-1 therefore the Barrie Colts would likely slot into "Tier 2 Div-C" with the likes of:

Bruce County Bucks
EOYK North Humberland
Toronto Stars Green
SGB Riptide
etc

Which are all MD teams last year who have joined KSL this year. So, that makes sense. Barrie Colts are worse than 28+ other teams in the KSL at 2016.
