Can a AAA cut a player mid season to make room for a Junior player that quits his team?
I get a player being cut for not preforming at a aaa level or a disruptive kid or parent.
But was if a junior player quits his team and becomes available. Can said coach just cut a player to pick up a junior player?
And if yes. Being Minor hockey is there compensation to the kid. Repayment of gear/hotels/league fees …?
I have never heard of this in all my years my kids playing AAA.
Anybody have this happen to their kid?

If the family wants out or agrees to a release then the player can be released.
As for compensation, the family should be getting pro-rated fees from both the org and the team fees.
Re: Can a AAA coach cut a player mid season?
My son was cut right before the season started, he had been on the team the year before and was actively practicing with them during the summer but just before the season started he was cut and no real reason was provided. All I can really say is that I guess they found someone they thought was a better fit or maybe it wasn’t a player cut it was a parent cut, because that happens too. I will be honest, I was emailing the coach and speaking with him at the rink and speaking to the parents poorly about the coach regarding ice time.
