WW
ySE
QRD

Maybe APR or or NS may be good with open borders and how well they can recruit. Everyone else will be garbage with MW leading the way.
APR will be good, Junior Wings coach will have pick of the litter of any kid not Young Kings. Lots of good Junior Wings kids, plus a couple Mustangs, plus a couple whitby MD, maybe some other random surprises. I'd say they will be good. Really good coach too.
ya cause anyone who's somebody is gonna want to go there lmao
You, aswell as others are silly morons if you think the only good players are going to GTHL. And if they do. I assure you, they will regret it and everyone will come back to omha territory. Most people are normal enough to realize that omha is just as good and will not want to drive to Toronto 5 times a week.

Also, if whitby is full. APR will be the next best place for kids who want to play AAA hockey in the Durham area. So they will absolutely get a lot of skilled kids interested.
Omha is an inferior league. You know that you'll be making the drive at some point.
Disagree. Only delusional parents think like this.

Absolutely wild to drive to Toronto 5 nights a week from Barrie, Durham, newmarket, etc it would be one thing if it was a game once a week. But, that often is crazy. Maybe if you don't work, or your hours can be that flexible?

But that's a lot.of time in the car even for your kid. Some kids schools don't get out until 4pm, then trying to make it to the rink over an hour of driving for 500 or 530pm practice?

I unno. To each their own, but for me it's just not enough to matter.

AAA programs are all fantastic. The Toronto ones aren't any better. Plus you are paying way more. The drop off in talent will be huge after the top 4 teams. WW, YSE, APR, QRD, BJC, PETB will all be solid teams and probably a few more good ones too. I'll drive for one game a week far away, over 5 nights a week any day of the week.

I think it's stupid. But to each their own. I feel like it will likely ruin your kids love of hockey. It's a tough slog the fall season. It feels like it's lasts forever. Also, keep in mind bad things happen during a season that are unforeseen, even in the situations you think will be great. Do you want to add 3hrs of driving to your day 5 days a week on top of the issues that might come up?

Some parents will have multiple OMHA centers closer to them but will still drive over an hour into the city. After all playing in the G will turn any kid into a superstar. Again there are not more spots nor teams in the G than previous years so it will be the same thing. It will just mean some of the kids in the city who are AA kids will be playing where they belong because clearly there are too many teams in the G than there are true AAA players. It might be a feasting party for some of the weaker teams such as Sens, DMF and NYR.

I agree with this, OMHA people will do the drive simply because they're allowed to, and they think there is some status of playing G hockey even though you live in Barrie. Which makes it a tougher league to get into, and will drain the OMHA of talent they would have otherwise kept because a lot of people didn't want to go through the hassle of fake addresses and sports schools.

I believe this will make the bottom teams more competitive, likely no 0 win teams next year in U10. It will also make the OMHA less competitive compared to the G, which was already a problem.

That being said, there will be a lot of parents rethinking things the year after and realizing it's not worth driving so much to play on the 3rd line on a bad team. Will get more ice on their OMHA team.

It should also make AA in the G better because I don't believe the opposite will happen, most Toronto people have zero interest playing in the OMHA loop because of travel so those that don't make AAA will just play AA rather than driving all over the place.

I also Assume U10 will be stupid, then the dumb parents will figure out quick how retarded it is to drive that far for a mediocre hockey player.

Driving into the G to play for anyone other than Marlies, JRC, Nats or Vaughan is a fools errand.

If you can get on WW, APR, QRD, or YSE it makes no sense to drive into Toronto.
