Pause on addition of Representative Teams for U10 age group and above
The OHF is implementing a temporary hold on the addition of Rep teams at U10 age group and above by Associations and OHF Members. This hold will allow for a thorough review and adjustment of the number of teams at each age group and Category.
2010 A West

Re: 2010 A West
I’ve heard that behind the scenes the G has told the OHF to go pound sand and that there’s a move to add teams and also strongly consider teams that have applied from Brampton, Oakville etc. The fact is is that why would families from Brampton, Oakville, Richmond Hill etc travel to Owen Sound of all places to have their kids play a game when now they can simply travel within the GTA. This should have happened years ago but now this is going to create a mess for a few years until things settle out.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 1:52 pmToo bad. We need more than 7 teams. The Toronto Attack some have some players who are developing fast and looking to go AA. Coach is very supportive, but demanding. If you are serious about development you should text him. He loves to help his players reach their potential. Spots are limited. 416-857-7257.
Re: 2010 A West
Lol.... there are exactly zero player in the Attack that would do well in AA.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 11:05 pm The Toronto Attack some have some players who are developing fast and looking to go AA. Go have a look at West Mall AA
Re: 2010 A West
Isn't that last year's Attack? I agree, I don't really see anyone on that team who should be playing level higher. But that's also not up to the coach to determine.Guest wrote: ↑Sun Jan 26, 2025 3:25 pmLol.... there are exactly zero player in the Attack that would do well in AA.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 11:05 pm The Toronto Attack some have some players who are developing fast and looking to go AA. The Rangers are getting a new coach. One of the Select coaches will take over the bench for the A team next season.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 9:14 pm Any coaching changes for next season?
Re: 2010 A West
This is the problem with teams/parents, there is not one single kid on that team that should even consider AA, a few should probably go the other way and down to Select.
What are the parents thinking...stop chasing letters and play your son/daughter on the appropriate level.

Quick question: Are you a coach?Guest wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2025 10:35 am This is the problem with teams/parents, there is not one single kid on that team that should even consider AA, a few should probably go the other way and down to Select.

If not, nobody cares about who you think should or should not be playing in the U15A West division. There's a set number of teams and a set number of roster spots. All the coaches have filled them with the best players they've identified. Whether or not it's to your liking is irrelevant; you are not the bouncer at the arena door deciding who gets to walk into each team's dressing room. You're just a whiner on an anonymous message board.
Kids and their parents are thinking that they'd like to get access to the development that A provides. Extra practices, trainers, more games. It's not rocket science. Some will succeed and some will find out it's not for them. That's what end-of-season cuts are for.
And don't kid yourself: If a AA coach called about your kid you'd run every stop sign on the way to a chance to skate hoping your kid would move up. That's the core issue, right? If your kid is only good enough for A, why do these other kids who aren't quite as developed get to play in the same league as your 'overlooked' future superstar?
